great northern italian food, recommend place, nice italian service, larger pasta dishes, like pasta, very pleasant waiters, authentic italian restaurants
Wow...this is good. This must be the best place for Italian in BevHills - I really ought to know, as I have tried them all. This is a fantastic restaurant with outstanding food and quite OK service. Especially when the owner himself takes care of you. I love this place and it is perfect for taking anyone and everyone for dinner. Lunch is very good as well as it is somewhat quiet (evenings gets a little bit more loud). Very very good...
Best Italian in LA. This is the real deal for good food. If you like Steak and Lobster pasta that taste like se* for your mouth than Madeo is for you. Expect to pay $100 a head, that is with a good wine, apetizers, dinner, and desert. Simply the best place to eat in town. They have a classic bar and the best wine selection, so you can chill and have a drink. I suggest the Chicken Parmigana, Peppercorn Filet, and Osso Bucco. Make Reservations.
What A Disappointment!. We recently went here for a special occassion and were extremely disappoined. Over the years the service, the food, and the ambience have always been so good. We were seated quickly only to wait forever to get our order placed. We had to keep asking for drink refills, bread and the food was way under par. It didn't taste fresh and was over sauced. We were so disgusted with the horrible service and tasteless food that we didn't even order dessert. Then it took another drawn out wait for the check to arrive. None of us have been back since. The best part of our evening was dessert at Urth Cafe!
Madeo.
Wonderful Northern Italian food in a very East Coast atmosphere. Waiters were mixed but the place is very familial.
Star spottings one night were Matthew Broderick and Johnny Depp among other familiar character actors.
Madeo Forever!.
Madeo was one of a handful of authentic Italian restaurants I used to frequently dine in the last 80's and throughout the late 90's. I hadn't been in quite a while but went recently in 2002. The restaurant was better than I had remembered. Same owner, great food and old world service that was second to none in Los Angeles.
You simply cannot get a better dining experience. It also has one of the best bars and a large wine selection. This is a staple of the city and great for anyone who regularly dines out with friends and business associates.
You don't want to bring your kids, unless they're older or very well behaved.
