The Best Coffee Shop In California. From the very first time I wandered into Jan's 10 years ago, I was hooked. Their burgers are the best in L.A. bar none. Their soups are also the best in town. The creole rice, vegetable, matzo ball, spinach meatball and clam chowder, to name but a few, are out of this world.

Their daily specials are always excellent and are NOT overpriced considering their location and top quality food. Thei Napoli Delight and Tijuana Delight platters are great. Their potroast is the best in town. The serving portions are huge and tasty. The broasted chicken is done to perfection every time. And let's not forget their fries...again the best to be found and always fried perfectly.

Jan's is not overpriced at all and the food is worth every penny. The staff is courteous, friendly and prompt. You could eat here every day and never get tired of their food as they have such a huge selection on the menu.

Dynamite Burger Plate!. I love Jan's burger plate. You get REAL decent meat, and a good size patty even after cooking! I skip the fries and get the excellent home style mashed potatoes. You also get a side of very good cole slaw, lettuce and tomato and a great deli style pickle. Yum! This will run you almost $10.00, but have you seen all the $12-$15 burgers that have popped up around town? And most of them are a la carte! If you want a real taste treat, get the Guacamole burger which has one half a sliced guacamole and melted jack cheese, super!

Comfortable diner atmosphere doesn't make up for a $13 diner breakfast. I had breakfast here on a Tuesday morning at 8:30am. Didn't have to wait for counter seating and had a hot cup of coffee right in front of me within ten seconds. Ordered the short stack of pancakes (you get five at about 5" in diameter) and a side bacon (five slices). Food came quickly, and tasted fine. Pancakes were moist and bacon had good flavor and wasn't burnt or anything. Then the bill came: $13.26! My own fault for not looking at the menu prices more closely, but that's just ridiculous.

BEST COFFEE. I am not sure what coffee brand they use, but it i LOVE it. Don't get me wrong -- Coffee Bean is good, too, but Jan's coffee is the best ;-)

Reasonable prices and HUGE portions of food. Seems to be a popular hang out for the elderly (not like that's a bad thing (-:O ). Enjoy~

THE BEST RUEBEN AND FRIES IN TOWN. I have been coming to Jans for the past 15 years. The service is excellent, large portions, and great great comfort food. Comfortable setting.

Good diner food. This place, and it's sister restaurant, Astro's at Fletcher and Glendale Blvd. in the Silver Lake area have good food at reasonable prices and huge portions. Their burgers are amongst the best in greater LA.
