  54. This place has great food, great service and the prices are Hollywood High.
  55. The service was excellent, with hands darting in from all around to pour wine and water, to refresh the ashtray and to make sure that silverware was set for each course.
  56. The food is mostly good, and of course the place is incredibly romantic, but both times I've been here the service was so incredibly bad it really ruined the whole experience.
  57. Inadequate customer service - CHECK YOUR BILL!
  58. This rude waiter pushed us to order both appetizer and main course altogether b/c he NEEDED the menus back (it was not even a busy night).
  59. have NEVER had such awful service, even from a diner.
  60. An overall great experience made possible by the service staff and atmosphere.
  61. Now, i am reading the reviews and see how many unhappy people complain about their HOrriBLE AttiTude, i can see who is lying and he offered $100 certificate (how come you don't believe us and want to give us $100).
  62. The service was excellent and I had a chance to hear my boyfriend speak French with the waitor which was very very ooh la la!
  63. The wait staff was attentive and prompt.
  64. The food is good but the service has to improve.
  65. The service is less than mediocre, but the food and ambience made up for it.
  66. If you have the time to deal with the slow service, this place is really worth a trip.
  67. the table we requested was unavailable, the service poor, the waiter brought a bottle of wine other that which we ordered (a different year), the food was of poor quality and overcooked.
  68. The setting is romantic, the food fantastic and the service good.
  69. The staff was very professional.
  70. Remember- you have the last laugh- a tip is a reward, not a right-for good service!

  1. The food is very good as well, though a little overpriced.
  2. Nothing like the nice Westside restaurants like Bandera, Peppone, Capo, or Lawrys where you get good service for your dollar.
  3. For those of you who aren't going to feel put out by a $200 dollar tab, know what good food is, and don't mistake fresh organic produce for canned beans.
  4. loved the huge hanging candle-abrah's and the fountain and all the greenery.
  5. When you are going to pay such high prices for dinner, you better get good service.
  6. If you have the time to deal with the slow service, this place is really worth a trip.
  7. The wine I had was great ( a bit pricey, but comparable to other restaurants in the area).
  8. food was great no complaints but not worth the hassle of waiting for it and getting yourself ticked off about it
  9. don't mind paying exuberant prices for an amazing experience, but the quality of food, over priced wine and inflated ego's of the waiters no longer justify their prices.
  10. It's a pricey place but worth every penny.
  11. But I do remember thinking it wasnt too bad and the prices were reasonable.
  12. However, the wines are outrageously overpriced--better to pay the $30 corkage fee than 4 times what you would on a bottle from the store.
  13. It's so lovely looking inside, you really, really want it to be a nice experience, but for a $150 dinner for two, it's simply not worth it.
  14. Possibly the most romantic place in l.a. - - impeccable service, exquisite surrounding, phenomenal food (yes, expensive, but worth every penny) - - if you want to impress a lady - the little door makes me feel like a princess.
  15. bit pricey overall, but a wonderful evening all together.
  16. From the street the place looks good and there are expensive cars.
  17. hole in the wall with a menu that's surprisingly affordable when the quality of food is considered.
  18. For how expensive the food is, it wasn't mindblowing in any way.
  19. And for that high price, i demand the food be that good, but was happy to find out that it was worth the splurge.
  20. The couscous/lamb royale dish was tasty but not worth the $40s, much like from a cheap Moroccan place.
  21. The food was good, although expensive.
  22. The food is not that great for the price.
  23. This place has great food, great service and the prices are Hollywood High.
  24. could have spent less money to eat at a Wolfgang Puck restaurant where the food was divine, not just good.
  25. Good food, great ambience, bad service, super pricey.
  26. Overall the food is good but I haven't decided yet if it's worth all that money (this was my second time there).
  27. basic, good enough, and therefore pricey.

  1. The ambience is amazing, the service is quick, and the food is delicious.
  2. couldn't complain about slow service because with such a beautiful atmosphere, why would you want to rush things?
  3. If you think this place has good service, you've dined in L.A. too long.
  4. Did enjoy the bar atmosphere since we had a long wait with dinner reservations
  5. The food was really tasty but my $36 filet mignon came to the table lukewarm, a second glass of wine was delivered a good ten minutes after I ordered it.
  6. The service is almost comically bad-- our waiter was snotty and aloof, and slow.
  7. The service is a little on the slow side at the peak hours but the atmosphere and great food more than make up for all the negatives.
  8. If you have the time to deal with the slow service, this place is really worth a trip.
  9. For dessert we shared a pecan chocolate caramel torte and we both agreed it was one of the best desserts we have had in a long time.
  10. Some people don't like the slow dining pace, but it was so nice to not be rushed and stay in this dreamy atomosphere for as long as we liked.
  11. Our waitress was friendly but slow to greet us.

Excellent---A Gem!!

by viollett at Citysearch

I absolutely love this little place---and it's little place next door.

The deserts, entrees, and all else are scrumptious.

And the staff and service are wonderful.

Ironic, that at such a zestful place, where it's crowded every night of the week( and rightfully s), the staff have absilutely no attitude.

They are polite, but not to the point of being standoffish.

And the wit per order is reasonable-----and the creme brulee? That would make ANY amount of time worth it!!

The flourless chocolate cake here gives Urth( one of my FAVORITE spots), some serious competition!

Everything just perfect

by AK222 at Citysearch

Just go and see it for yourself, I really doubt you'll be disappointed. Servers completely friendly and helpful, looks amazing inside (especially at night when the lights inside compliment the night sky). go around 730, you'll get the restaurant experience in the day and in the night.
