Husband-and-wife owners Michael and Kathleen Thompson, with partner Carol Sandberg, have been in the antiquarian books business for over 30 years. They've created an environment that cocoons bibliophiles in a timeless shell of stained pine bookcases, library lamps, and the faint, lingering smells of tobacco and well-read books. The trio has kept to a rather cerebral realm: philosophy, literature, history and the arts.
