Rachel Rodriguez
by nhisaka at Citysearch
Miss Rachel Rodriguez has to be one of the most talented and exceptional stylists I have ever had the pleasure of doing my hair. Not only was she receptive to my needs (keeping my hair at a desired length), but was also very knowledgeable on what she did. I was new to the area, and in LA there are several hair stylists to choose from. At first glance, Rachel stood out to me because of her education. I have thick, coarse hair that I needed special attention. I found out that she went to the AVEDA Academy and interned at Vidal Sassoon which were very highly academy's recognized in her industry upon my own research. When she cut my hair, I noticed that she not only was confident in knowing what to do, but she also allowed my opinion to be heard. Most hair stylist do what they want or cannot understand my needs. As she began to cut my hair, I realized she read my hair like a story... could tell me what type of hair cut I received last, and what needed to be corrected while again, maintaining my needs. You can tell she was not only trained educationally, but physically as even her posture affected the haircut - very elegant and poised I might add. I later found out that she worked for Ted Gibson, Arrojo Studios in NY, on the set of "What Not To Wear" with Nick Arrojo, worked with Mariah Carey and toured with the Jonas Brothers, etc. I felt privileged to have her work on my hair. Rachel, really cares about her clients and that's how she made me feel. Sometimes I feel awkward when I sit in a chair with a stylist I am not familiar with, but Rachel was so personable and friendly. She is willing to accommodate my schedule and beauty needs . I have never found anyone in 20 years who could cut my hair to my liking. She gave me advice about all different types of hair and even things like extensions and color which I had questions about. At the time she did my hair, she used little product and no irons ... just a brush and hair dryer which looked like I straightened it myself. Truly a gifted individual.
Rachel is a Senior Stylist, which for those who are not aware like me, is at the higher end of experience of any stylist. She has worked her way up to the position through experience, assisting, and education. Going to a stylist who has the seniority experience definitely makes a difference, which for someone like me who had no knowledge in the aesthetics department, really makes you aware of what type of stylist you are going to. I have not had to go back in for a haircut in the past 2 months as Rachel cuts hair so it will last for up to 2 months. She told me that " a good hair cut she hold itself" so overall in the long run, my wallet stays healthier. She was worth every dime and no matter where I am, I will go to her. She has won my trust and loyalty. In LA, we have a lot of choices, but if you're looking for a hair stylist for any type of hair - creative, thick, ethnic, short, long, thin, or curly, Rachel Rodriguez is your girl. I promise you, you will not be let down.
RACHEL is an AMAZING addition!
by christinaw1209999596 at Citysearch
I'm the kind of person who is not a fan of change. Rachel has been cutting my hair for about a year now, and when I found out she had changed salons and moved to Fusion I was apprehensive. I knew the cut would be fabulous, but I was unsure of the salon environment (and I have to like the whole package to be happy - the stylist and the salon).
Once I got there my tensions were put at ease, the staff is warm and welcoming. The environment is somewhat 80s retro, but big and spacious. And of course Rachel worked her magic as always. She hands down gives the best cuts ever, and her blow outs are awesome, full of body and shine. She is a great addition to the Fusion team!
Side Note: I just want to throw it out there, that I am African American and yes Rachel can cut some Black hair. Hands down she has taken better care of my hair than any other stylist (ethnic or not) ever has.

Jez is the best

Jez is amazing. He has nursed my over processed hair back to life. He is truly gifted and I always feel comfortable at his salon. I recently took my husband there to get his hair cut and Jez put him at ease and gave him the best cut he has ever had. I can't imagine going anywhere else.
