Editorial Review for Beverly Laurel Motor Hotel – by Jenner Bishop
In Short
Operated by the Adler family since 1964, this hotel's renaissance began in the '90s when daughter Karen decided to play up the kitschy energy and enhance each room with stylish touches, like blonde-wood headboards inset with artsy black and white photographs. There are 52 rooms all with signature design elements: one deep-blue wall and stylish headboards. Standard rooms have microwaves and small refrigerators, and all 10 kitchenette units feature a full-size refrigerator, microwave, electric stove and oven, and a kitchen.

First of all, there is the staff, namely Roberto! He is the most pleasant and accomodating person in all of L.A. I swear! Everyone there always has a smile and a hello. The vibe is that of a well kept apartment building that has a retro yet home like feeling. It has it's minor imperfections, but believe me they give this wonderful find character. U can count on comfy pillows, lots of clean towels, and plenty of shopping!!! The decor is fun and festive. A call to the front desk and they will have you a taxi in minutes! I go to L.A. alot, and I consider the Beverly Laurel my home away from home :)
Pros: Some have kitchens, microwaves, fridges

I loved this place. Its a motel, rather than hotel but its cheap, well looked after, retro looking and has a fantastic location. Free parking to boot, it really is brilliant for the money. The one and only downside was the lack of cutlery or plates so u have to eat out. But there is a diner right underneath.
Pros: free parking, great location, very good price
Cons: have to eat out
