Burned by Sonya Dakar

I waited 40 minutes until I was spoken to. Sonya came in, roughly and without care put on a few products and left me under a steamer.

The water from the boiling steamer was dropping onto me. The temperature felt like two-thousand degrees.

After the scolding hot water burned my chest, she could see that I was nervous but didn't want to change the machine. When she left me there, the boiling water started pouring out again all over my chest and shoulder.

I was bright red with burns as I got up and walked out. I told her not to use that machine with anyone else. Not even so much as a follow up phone call or apology. Disgusting and unacceptable.

She is truly a skin savior

I've been Sonya's client for three years now. I started seeing her in 2005 when I was desperate for a solution to my continual acne and scarring. She saw me for a few months and my skin looked better than it ever had. But the treatments were expensive and I decided to try things on my own. I stopped coming to the clinic for a year during which I saw a dermatolgist and went on accutane. Not only was the accutane hard on me emotionally and physically but it didn't work. I came back to Sonya this past year and she immediately assured me that she could help me change my skin, which was at the time completely dry, irritated, scarred and yet still breaking out.

After the past five months my skin is glowing again and Sonya continues to blow me away by how concerned she is for my health and happiness from the inside all the way out to my skin. I no longer consider the treatments expensive because they are absolutely worth every penny and the joy that comes from feeling beautiful is pricelesss. I would encourage anyone to come see Sonya but especially those who have tried everything else. She is wonderful, kind and completely invested in her clients. She will transform your face if you let her.

Pricey but oh-so worth it if you can afford it.

I have always had issues with my skin -- sensitive, breakouts, sunspots and just not the best texture. I had heard about Sonya Dakar because she is known as the facialist to the stars like Gwneyth Paltrow so I finally decided to pony up the money & give her a try since I figured she must be pretty good Well, I was right! After just one visit I saw a major improvement in the texture of my skin -- so smooth! I tried the acne blue light which kills all the bacteria and the diamond peel which is like microdermabrasion but supposeldly gentler. Whatever it was, it was great. Yes it was expensive, but if you can go just at least once, Sonya will definitely help you and her products are fantastic and not expensive at all. The Omega serum and acne cream are a godsend - I have never felt my skin smoother even weeks after seeing her. It is the best way to keep the effects going without spending a whole lot and I can even order them online when I run out! All in all, worth the experience even once.

• Cons: Cost is high, but worth it for clear skin

I Just had my first Sonya Dakar Facial!

I just got my first Sonya Dakar facial!

I am pleased to say that I had my first sonya dakar facial this week- and my skin looks amazing! I read about their special in us weekly and got a free $800 light treatment. The staff was so nice, and very helpful. Parking was great, and they even made me one of their new shakes for free. But best of all, I had a great treatment, and my skin looks so much better.

Sonya helped me finally get the skin I have wanted for so long! I enjoyed her brutal honesty, because without it, I wouldn't have known what I needed to correct. I went in for a facial last week, and my skin was glowing for the next week. I loved it.
