Ernie is an amazing colorist

by jillb2003 at Citysearch

I read some other reviews here about other colorists at Taboo - I didn't realize they had so many good ones because I know they have my favorite!!! have gone to Ernie on and off for 10 years or so. The only time I'm off is when I can't make it into LA to see him (I've moved around a lot). I'm in Ventura now and he is definitely worth the drive (but, he was the best when I was living in NY, SF and LA, too)......I am a brunette, I like being a brunette but it is really hard to get a color that doesn't wash me out or make my hair brassy. Ernie somehow can find that sweet spot where my hair looks rich, healthy and shiny and I end up with all kinds of compliments. If I do highlights, he'll do them either subtle and natural (my preference) or trendy and stylish - which also looks great. You will never go wrong going to Ernie!

Aaron is THE BEST Colorist in Town!!!

by Melissa301 at Citysearch

Taboo's colorist, Aaron Blackburn, has never let me down in over 3.5 years!! He knows how to bring out brilliant distinctions for blondes without resorting to bleach. My hair is a mixture of cremes, winter whites, and butter creme colors that combine to make a truly glowing finish!

And if that wasn't enough, Aaron is very experienced doing bridal hair, updos, and make-up too!!

He takes his time and treats my hair with VIP care and attention to detail:)

I highly recommend Aaron at Taboo!!!!

I HAVE A CRUSH ON MY HAIR.

by STIXX6 at Citysearch

I am in a great mood. I love my hair!!! I got one of the best cuts of my life and it is perfect in every way. I was referred to Jovan by a friend who always has the cutest cuts who said she's been seeing Jovan for about 4 years.. I wanted an edgy layer cut with heavy bangs that rounded down the sides and what did I get?! exactly that and more. He mentioned the Brazilian Blowdry to tame my somewhat out of control hair and talked about it like it was his child. He really believes in that product and after he tried it out on my bangs.. Im going back for more- its amazing. He really wants his clients to feel beautiful and you can feel it.

I got the by one of the best stylists at Taboo and his name is Jovan.

  • Pros: perfect cut. perfect style.
  • Cons: nothing.

JOVAN KING IS A MIRACLE WORKER

by lagarconne at Citysearch

Jovan is so incredibly talented. He has a new process called a Brazilian Blowdry. I have shoulder length hair that is pretty curly/wavy but becomes GIGANTIC and very frizzy whenever I blowdry it. Jovan suggested the Brazilian Blowdry and now I HAVE BRAND NEW HAIR. It is so soft and shiny and it completely restored my hair. I am absolutely AMAZED at the difference. I finally have the hair that I have always been jealous of. The cut he gave me is the best I have ever had. He spent so much time and followed up with me the next day -- he's an absolute PERFECTIONIST. I think he actually cared more that I did -- and I care a lot. I have been to many hair salons all over the country and I have NEVER HAD ANYONE THIS TALENTED work on my hair. I wont go to anyone else!

  • Pros: Brazilian Blowdry

DESHANI, DESHANI, DESHANI!

by juel82 at Citysearch

I have been going to DESHANI for over 3 years. She's helped me obtain every shade of brown and when I was finally bored with brown she transformed me into a beautiful blonde without damaging my hair. She's professional, always flexible with MY schedule and I never received more compliments since going to her. I recently moved and she graciously wrote out my hair color formula and directions on an index card for me to take with me! You dont find many people willing to do that... she really cares about her clients and their satisfaction! I would recommend her to anyone!

  • Pros: Flexible schedule, superb service & professional experience
  • Cons: I couldn't take her with me when I moved!
