I trained in traditional karate in New York for 13 years and came here looking for a place and never saw anywhere where they have so many masters and grand masters...a true one isn't called such until about death or into their 70 or 80s. I tell people when u go somewhere, find how you can trace the lineage back to Japan.... Something people don't know the 4 main Japanese arts of karate are shotokan, goju, shito, and wado ryu. Find one of those are you are almost guaranteed to get the real stuff from a very humble teacher. Also only white uniforms are worn in a traditional class, not black, red, blue, etc. Happy hunting. -Domo arigato-
