Yoga >Maha Yoga
different yoga, good sweat, love poses, great instructors, favorite studio, love music, good workout
Maha Yoga = Supreme Yoga.
I'm no yogi (yet), but Maha Yoga is my new favorite studio. Although the front desk people weren't too welcoming (no mini tour or explanation), the instructor (Stephanie) made my first session worthwhile (sweated bullets, but doable). I've been looking high and low for the "right" studio in terms of energy, atmosphere, flow, etc. I tried the other 2 top rated studios, Mark's Progressive Yoga and also Yoga Works, but I instantly connected with Maha Yoga. The price is competitive to those studios, but you can get 10-15% off 1 or 5 class series with a KCRW Fringe Benefits Card or even a better discount <$12 per class by signing up for a longer term.
Discounted pricing available.
Non-traditional music, more modern (could be a con for some people).
Parking could be an issue in this neighborhood.
One room (bigger than that at Mark's Yoga and Yoga Works), which means limited classes.
Gets hot inside (like at Mark's Yoga), need central AC, otherwise bring water and a towel.
Bottomline: Maha Yoga is worth checking out.
Sweaty class. The space is nice and its a good workout. But the instructors are a little to friendly if your female. Definitely not for the advanced yogi.
tight as sardines. the yoga was good, but different than the traditional yoga. It emphasises the physical part of yoga. The price was on the high side. Each class is extremely crowded. When you are doing poses, you often hit the person in front or beside you.
