On at least 7 occasions over the years we have had to call Dr. Blumstein in the middle of the night because of our daughter's asthma. Each time she calls us back immediately, is fully engaged, and takes the time to assess the situation to see whether she needs to go to the ER. She will always make time to see us the next day.

She is kind and considerate in the office and is open to alternative/homeopathic medicine when appropriate. It is a relief to know that our kids are in such capable hands.

As for the reviewer below who called about his 1.5 year old with a 102.5 fever at 4 am, my guess is she was questioning why you called because 102.5 is not a serious fever for a child of that age, and it doesn't make sense to deprive her of her sleep if it is not an emergency.

Surprised at the Response

My 1.5 year old had a 102.5 degree fever all day and I called the 24 hour answering service for the Doctor on Duty at 4 AM as her body continued to overheat. To my surprise, when Dr. Blumstein returned my message and I advised her of my concern her first words were to question why I called at 4 AM, rather than waiting until 8 AM. Now, I may be an over-cautious father, but this response is shocking to me from someone in any medical profession, especially one that deals with children. I hope this was an anomaly but this experience is one I simply cannot understand.

A wonderful doctor to my three kids

I have three kids that see this doctor and I would recommend her to my friends. In fact I have referred a relative of mine with two kids to her. Both our families have been pleased with her advice and the outcome. She takes a natural approach to medicine and to my surprise it has worked out great. It can be a little expensive to buy homeopathic, though, and you can run around LA looking for stuff. She of course does traditional medicine when necessary. She's not in the office a lot of hours but will return calls herself usually within a few hours. She shares an office with two other docs and the front desk is quite disorderly and they do not answer phone before 10:00 quite often and you have to keep calling. Her personal staff is very nice, though. Her apparent knowledge and friendliness keeps us coming back despite this.

The Doctor for My Three Kids!

Dr Blumstein does a great job of using homeopathics along with traditional care. She recognizes her role in assisting the body to heal and only uses stronger medication when necessary.
