Alameda Swapmeet is the place to be if say you need a haircut, want a inexpensive acupressure massage, need your windows tinted, are looking for a 20 gallon copper pot, some good pupusas, tacos, bacon wrapped hotdogs, and a fresh fruit salad for 15 and have like an hour to do all of this. Why? Cuz you can do all of this and more there, and it won't break the bank! Great for Housewares if you just got your first place. Good for fundraisers too we'd buy food here and sell at campus for a markup in my college days.

Come early or parking is hell.

They've got 2 buildings and 2 food courts catering to Lain American preferences. you can get fresh seafood dishes, fruits, tacos, goat/lamb dishes (birria/ barbacoa/ consomme), fruit and fresh juice specialties, and handmade / imported candies from Mexico such as candied pumpkin and guava jam. Here's what I my roomies and I bought last time with costs:

Double cd set of Regional Mariachi music $10

Worth Your While. Choose to go to this swap meet when you have no plans for that particular day. Parking can be a hassle, but when your not being rushed, it's not a big deal. Park a few blocks away and walk - we all can use the exercise!

Enjoy yourself while you search thru hundreds of trinkets, toys, art, food, ect. You're sure to find something special if you take your time.

The music, people and atmosphere can make you feel like you are visiting from out of town. It can be a fun and interesting experience.
