What People Are Saying About Bourbon Street Shrimp & Grille

In Short – A bluesy soundtrack and slow-moving ceiling fans emulating Gulf breezes conjure up a New Orleans seafood shack at this faux shanty. Mammoth portions of classic Cajun dishes are the menu's foundation, beginning with house-signature shell-on jumbo shrimp in a bowl of piquant broth. Po' boys come filled with fried oysters or blackened shrimp, while chicken jambalaya brims with spicy sausage. Dishes are all complemented by warm corn bread steamed tamale-style in a husk. –

My friends and I after a great night of movie watching at The Landmark decided to go for drinks at Bourbon St. The owner Al seemed nice enough, until we started discussing immigration. Basically the owner began preaching to us about how immigrants are bringing down this country and that the school system should not teach Spanish speaking students Spanish in classrooms in order for them to learn English and receive an education. I am half Mexican, and took such extreme offense that I had to leave this establishment. I wish that I had never contributed money to Bourbon Street. Please do not visit this place as the owner of the bar made my friends and I very upset and uncomfortable!
- Pros: They serve alcohol, thats about it.
- Cons: The owner Al was horrible!
Run-of-the-mill Creolian food

This restaurant is located on Pico, in a very lively restaurant-laden area, with a very wide variety of different cuisines. The atmosphere is great, with big-screen TVs all around to watch the game on, and a good number of beers on tap. Service was great. The food was only OK though... rather bland. This is New Orleans food! Come on guys, Gumbo and Boullabaise should have more kick than this! My tongue should hurt so bad that I can't eat for a day afterward!
- Pros: Nice laid-back drinking atmosphere
- Cons: Bland food

It was so delicious...this will be one of my favorite spots from now on!. What a great little discovery, right here in my own neghborhood. Our waitress was really sweet and promt...she knew we had to leave for the show and made sure everything was served on time. Great Matgaritas, great amoshphere, Great FOOD!
- Pros: great location, great prices, great food
- Cons: -
