In Short – This old-fashioned local favorite has worn burgundy walls and dark wood, all decorated with beer signs, aged photographs and stained-glass lamps. With numerous roomy booths and long tables, its loyal following arrives in groups for daily happy hour, or to watch the big game on multiple TVs. A full bar features specialty margaritas, while omelettes and charbroiled chicken sandwiches complement a menu famous for 1/2-pound burgers topped with mushrooms, grilled onions or guacamole.

chillest spot, BEST burgers fries drinks

I don’t see how this place can receive much of a profit when you balance out the great quality with the low dippin prices. THINGS HAVE CHANGED, for the better. I love the casual vibe, nice tunes especially at night, when the freaks come out :). Not many old school places around in L.A. that have great food, this is one of them. Much cleaner than it was a while ago, but still has a comfy ageless cali gold rush feel to it. The menu is getting GREENER, with burgers in the bowl, salads (better than my lovely creations at whole foods salad bar...and hella cheaper)...what else...Oo some of the best sweet potato fries in LA, pair that with the juiciest burger (fresh quality meat too I've noticed that change) and who isn’t sold? Happy hour is a must and so are the bite your tongue nachos! Vale, I’m through venting on my lovely experiences here…

AMAZING PLACE!!!

Best 49er bar in town, amazing food, friendly bartenders, and great beers. It feels like I'm at the game. Its going to be my new Sunday football place to catch the game.!!!

Great food, great service, avoid Friday lunches

I love the SF Saloon. The food is great, and definately the burgers are on my favorite list. My favorite salad is the Oriental Chx. Service is good depending on when you go. As a former server, I can tell that the restaurant is understaffed for busy occasions, and the kitchen is too small to handle large crowds. If you go anytime except Friday lunches or a crazy sports game, your servers will be friendly and attentive. Otherwise, the poor girls are frantically running around like crazy taking orders, serving drinks and busing tables.

Great Sandwiches!!!

I'm not sure I want to boast about this place, because it gets pretty crowded already. But the place does serve really great burgers and sandwiches. And the service is exemplary, too. But it does take a while for the food to come out of the kitchen on a busy day.

Go on an afternoon when there's no big game drawing a big crowd, and enjoy!
