not very good fries, not overly friendly staff, bad back sourdough bun, good shakes, fresh food, hated dining environment, recommend double patty
Intolerant, Insensitive. Someone should have informed the personnel at this establishment that the most important color in business is green. There was a notable difference in the way that black and other customers were treated. They won't be seeing anymore of my business. I mean the attitude? The looks? What were we possibly gonna steal? the meat? Get a grip LA... geez
Pretty Good, but nothing special. This place does a great job in advertising. They had us convinced that it was going to be great before we even went. As it turns out, it was just OK. I can't really say anything bad about the place, but you can throw it into the had with a number of the same style burger joints that it competes with. If you're in the area, it's a nice little lunch, but it's not one of those spots you travel to get to.
Better then average burger if you order right. Does Lack a bit.. I've only been there twice, but both times I got the same thing. I was able to create my own burger with bacon, avocado, two patties, cheese, etc. It was surprisingly good. The produce was fresh and I didn't really find the bun bad; it certainly was not a mammoth fresh back sourdough bun. The patties were overcooked which was a disappointment, but if you take it for what its worth i think its 20 times better then any Carl's Jr, BK, mac D's burger. The price is right but i hated the dining environment so I would get your food to go. The music was 50's nonsense, some whisteling thing that played for 30 minutes, and it was rather loud. I mean if thats your thing , rock out. Oh and the parking stinks there as its in this tiny little strip mall.
Just Average. I've tried this place a couple of times now and the food is really just average. The burgers are decent, but nothing special--In & Out or Fatburger are better. The fries weren't very good. They do have good shakes. The staff weren't overly friendly. The decor is nice, 50's style. Overall, the food is just average.
Great food, atmosphere, and service. I love coming here for the ambience as much as the food. The guys here are super friendly, if you're walking out with a drink they'll take the initiative to ask you if you want a refill before you go. If you come with a date they'll joke with you and ask if she's your wife. The food is super fresh. This place is seriously old-school. Great place for families or stopping for a quick, delicious burger. Always a pleasure, I've never had a remotely bad experience here.
Not Habit Forming. The banner in front said "best hamburger in L.A." I'm sorry but, Not even close. This burger is small and the bun lousy. It was very disappointing. Very boring little eating area and it's located in a corner shopping center next to the 405 freeway. Burger King or even McDonald's have no competition here.
Good, but not great. This burger is good, but it leaves much to be desired. The bun has a "bready" quality which overpowers the taste of the meat. I should have ordered a double meat patty, but that shouldn't be necessary for the "best burger." They should either beef up the meat or change the bun. However, the fries are excellent because they cook them continually and they are fresh. I doubt I will crave Hamburger Habit, there are so many other truly great burger places. But if you want to try it, it's worth a shot.
The Hamlet's little brother. Not the best burger in town but not bad either.
Best Hamburgers & Fries in LA. The Hamburger Habit has been a lasting favorite of mine for the past 12 years. Even since I moved from Los Angeles to Vancouver, Washington, I make it a point to find time for lunch at The Hamburger Habit when I am in LA. Their fries are always fresh and hot, and their hamburgers are always cooked right. Their unique sauce adds zest to their burgers. The atmosphere is casual and the staff is friendly.
Every once and a while you stumble upon a culinary gem. Sometimes it's a great hamburger stand. Hamburger Habit serves a great hamburger. If you're on the West Side and you love a good burger, try the Habit!
The fries were great too!
