In Short – A young well-heeled clientele gathers in the elegant dining room for California renditions of Thai classics. The menu caters to local tastes with dishes that are less spicy and exotic than their Thai Town counterparts. Menu highlights include traditional pad thai, chicken-coconut soup and lightly fried catfish kissed with mild red chili and coconut cream. The clay pot is also popular: a stew of shrimp, scallops and mushrooms basking in rich crab sauce.
Tasty & Large Portions

Chan Dara is a great Thai restaurant. Serves large portions & really tasty. The atmosphere is nice and can be a great date spot.
Everything that I've ordered here has always been tasty!
One of the better Thai restaurants in LA

It's not easy to find good Thai food but I like this place. It's not purely authentic but it's good. The prices have jumped a bit in the last few years but it's still worth it. I like the duck rolls, veggie rolls, and all the noodle dishes are good - pad thai being my favorite. They have a lot of good salads too. I don't eat curry much so I couldn't give you an opinion on that.
The whole Asian female waitress thing is a little cheesy but whatever. As long as someone takes the order and brings the food.
Worst Thai in Santa Monica

The curry at this place is watered down poo. The vegetables are undercooked. The portions are small and WAY over priced!!! I spent 12 bucks on two tiny crab cakes and a box full of lettuce! Ordered delivery and it showed up cold and soggy. Bottom line, this place will disappoint you! Do yourself a favor, go to Toi Restaurant on Wilshire instead.
- Pros: None
- Cons: Price high, quality is a joke.
