good music, great place, good atmosphere, really tasty beers, slow service, really tasty appetizers, great mellow beats
Bad food, slow, but otherwise okay. I hosted my birthday dinner here this past Saturday night because we were going to do private karaoke next door. It feels more like a bar than a restaurant, but the atmosphere was nice enough. Kind of dark, certainly comfortable. The waitresses are nice (and very good-looking), but we found things moved a little too slowly for our tastes. At first we were delighted to see that the menu items were all priced very reasonably (pizzas for $6, martinis for $6, appetizers and salads for around $5). And the array of choices was strange almost -- everything from pizza to curry. Unfortunately, the food was mostly tasteless and the raw fish was very bad. So, go for the prices. But don't go for the quality.
Good music and atmosphere. I went to Cafe Muse on a Sunday night, and I was pleasantly surprised with the mood and the atmophere - very chill and intimate. It's a great place to hang out and talk to friends on a lazy day like Sunday. The DJ was spinning mellow chillout grooves, and the food was cheap, although service was a bit slow (they only had 2 waitresses working there).
Chill atmosphere, good food. We came on a Sunday to meet up with friends and were pleased with the atmosphere. The DJ was playing great mellow beats with artists like Air, Sneakerpimps, and Zero 7. I just wished they had turned up the music a little bit more, and I noted that one of the speakers was a little defunct. Being at a mostly wine and beer place, we ordered some beers and some appetizers, which were really tasty albeit long in arriving (we thought they'd forgotten our order.) The mood of the place inspires conversation, and there are both booths and a long bar at the front. I would definitely come again though I don't know what they spin on other nights.
More of a college scene. I use to come here when I went to UCLA a couple of years ago. I went here as a 2nd choice from leaving a not-so-happening bar, and found that it was still roomy at 10:45pm on a Friday night. They had a dj spinning mainstream hip-hop you hear on the radio. Drinks were decently priced, although a bit watered down. They do lack a variety of alcohol though, since I found that the didn't offer whiskey. Overall, it's more of a college scene.
IT'S OKAY!~. it is pretty small, the drinks are completely watered down! i didn't like their martini, but they are okay priced. The music is not too great, but overall is a good place to catch up with friends...local crowd and asians...
