great service, good breakfast food, great breakfast, good place, tasty breakfast menu, never fails morning server, not good nosh
HORRIBLE SERVICE!. WORST COSTUMER SERVICE EVER! They are so rude, they ignore their costumers, the food is good but I like to go somewhere where I'm going to be treated nice and friendly...I agree with the previouS comment "In this economy everyone needs to be on their toes because they will lose costumers" I WILL NEVER COME HERE AGAIN! I even call the manager/owner and told him and he didn't even apologize he was just saying "okay, okay" on the phone! obviously they don't care about their costumers.
Good Food...Bipolar Servers.
I love coming to this place but its always a different experience with the servers. They are usually either making rude remarks to each other or ignoring thier guests. I saw at least 3 people stad up and ask for thier checks. I seriously think they need someone in charge there cause they are gonna drive the customers away.
I really like this place though, cute, cozy and really good food. In this economy everyone needs to be on thier toes.
I LOVE this place!!!. This has become my go-to place for breakfast in the City of Angels during my recent trips to Venice and Malibu. The food is great and the service friendly and fast. The prices are really reasonable for the portions and the mostly organic ingredients. Even though I only drop in every month or so on trips down from SF, the morning server, Shannon, never fails to recognize me and greet me with a smile! A home away from home. Who can ask for more?
The best Memories where made here. The experience of walking in and being remembered by our waiter after a month had gone by made us feel like family. Breakfast is the best! Love Maxwell's can't wait for our next visit :)
my favorite breakfast spot!!. This place is the best for breakfast! The yummiest homemade breakfast. Great omeletes, pancakes, strawberry frenchtoast, veggie patties, sausage. Very casual and comfortable and cool Maxfield Parrish art. Super kid friendly with books and crayons. I've always received the most prompt and friendly sevice and hot food. Yes, there is a long wait on the weekends.
Why do you wait?. I always see lines here so I thought I would give it a try on a Saturday afternoon when there was very little to no wait. Meh. Nothing too special here. Food is good but the service is very slow- and Im talking about after being seated. Simple things like refilling a coffee cup and water glass really shouldnt be too hard to keep up when the place is not full. There are plenty of places around that feature a more relaxing environment for that price.
Avoid if you don't want to feel rushed. Couple of my friends and I started coming to Maxwells this past Sept on Fridays--We have become regulars...It has been a comfortable place to get a good breakfast and coffee and catch up/destress from the week..... Overall the staff there has been very welcoming and prompt with their service.and we have never felt like we had to rush through our meal--until today....I guess this guy is a manager (we have seen him before/not overly friendly)--he came to our table to clear a few things and said "there are people waiting for tables" (in other words time to go...)We thought this was rude and there were a few vacant tables...We may have to find a new place for our Friday breakfasts...If you want to have a leisurely meal and linger over a few cups of coffee this may not be the spot to go!!
Best Breakfast EVER!. We've tried to go somewhere else but nothing EVER compares to Maxwell's. Every time someone comes in from out of town, we must take them here. The wait is always worth it! Sure sometimes the service isn't stellar but we are too busy stuffing our faces with the BEST bacon EVER to even really care. They are always nice and always get the food right. The Benedict with grilled onions and bacon is so delicious it's hard to stray from it... Thank goodness for Maxwell's!!
Maxwells Cafe is under new management!.
Mike Maxwell, owner for 37 years, has moved to Costa Rica and opened anpother Maxwells. Venice Maxwell's is the same except for some new "Kitchen Specials" .The kitchen staff has been there for 20 years, everything is more or less the same except service is better. The wait is still 15-30 min. on the weekends.
If you want to come in when there is no line try before 9 am or after 1:30 pm.
Mawells is a breakfast / lunch cafe with homemade food.
