What People Are Saying About Paco's Tacos

In Short – This casual Mexican restaurant features a vast expanse of tables and lively interior festooned with crepe-paper streamers and festive fiesta decorations. Large fish tanks add even more color to the mix. Lunch hours are busy, but evenings find Paco's positively packed with a wide range of diners, from loners to family groups. Paco's is classic old-school L.A. Mexican--in addition to burritos and customary combo plates, there's a bevy of meat and seafood selections and fresh tortillas prepared before your very eyes.

ambiance
100.0% positive
  1. The decor was a little tacky, but many Mexican restaurants are the same, and it is kind of cool to see them making fresh tortillas in front of you (which are yummy by the way!)
  2. It's not fancy but it's a great value and lots of fun.
  3. The waitstaff is always attentive and the atmosphere is good with a Mexican family restruant feel.
  4. The ambience is excellent too, although hard to describe.
  5. Although it is a romantic place, it was my girlfriend's first time here and she does not want to return.

  3. The food is very good although we have noticed the prices creeping up quite a bit recently.
  4. It is good food and value, the kids love the aquariums.
  5. Fresh flour tortillas for dunking in the enchillada sauce with my favorite combo plate (#13), makes us venture to Paco's both weekend mornings for a hangover brunch or at night for an early dinner.
  6. All the food is wonderful - try the Albondigas.
  7. best authentic mexican food
  8. My combo plate was as I remembered, my husbands carne asada was not cooked medium and was poor quality meat with no flavor at all.
  9. You will be happy you triend Pacos and possibly the best Mexican food you have ever had North of the border.
  10. My boyfriend, who is not such a huge fan of what he calls "Californian" Mexican food, was impressed.
  11. Have visited both the Centinela and Manchester boulevard locations often since then, and the food is as consistently as good as we remember.
  12. They have lots of unique dishes that are particular to mexican traditions giving it a little more to offer than the usual mexican restaurant.
  13. My favorite dish is the Burrito Especial.
  14. The melon margaritas are delicious if you're looking to have a strong drink.

  18. the hot, fresh flour tortillas are great with the appetizer "queso fundido" which is melted cheese with a bit of chorizo on top, the blended margaritas are served up in carafes that are good for 4 people, i'd suggest the blended mango-rita, its not strong

  34. go very frequent and never get sick of their delicous food.
  35. Home made tortillas, excellent margaritas, great chips and salsa.
  36. It is unfortunate that Paco's does not use authentic Mexican cheese to stuff the peppers, instead using Monterey Jack.
  37. My husband doesn't even like Mexican food, and he liked.
  38. This burrito is huge and I love to order it becaus I know I'll have some left over that I can take home with me and enjoy later that evening at home if I had it for lunch earlier that day or take if for lunch at work.
  39. For Mexican food, this can seem a little overpriced, but being that the food is so good, I believe it's worth it.
  40. haven't been to the Paco's on Manchester but that is because a great deal of close friends of mine that have been to the Paco's on Manchester said that the food was nasty and not even close to the taste as the one on Centinela.
  41. The food overall was great too.

Great mexican food

by Tony Larson

Like a trip to old mexico, this restaurant has everything. Home made tortillas, excellent margaritas, great chips and salsa.

I tried many menu items and liked them all. Then I tried the shrimp in garlic butter, and I was hooked. Now that is all that I order.

Get there as early as you can. They fill up fast, and the best seats are up front. Avoid the tables in the back.

  • Pros: Camarones de mojo aho and margarita
  • Cons: long wait for a table

Horrible

by guitarkip

I have no idea why people like this place. The food is soupy and bland. They put canned vegetables on the rice and beans (yeah the little cut up squared ones that i ate when i was 5)

Most Mexican sit down restaurants in LA are just awful and overpriced. Maybe my tastes are more inclined to the tex-mex style restaurants of the mid west and east coast.

  • Pros: Nice homemade tortillas
  • Cons: bland, pricy.

Great Mexican food.

by rodney_tonya

The lines can be long during dinner hours. The food is very good although we have noticed the prices creeping up quite a bit recently. The waitstaff is always attentive and the atmosphere is good with a Mexican family restruant feel. Parking is a hassle, only a few spaces in back and no parking at the restruant next door. You cant always count on the neighborhood streets and parking across the street at BofA is fine if you want to dodge traffic on Centinela.

It is good food and value, the kids love the aquariums.

  • Pros: good food and value
  • Cons: parking

The Best Mexican food in So Cal.

by Julzyea

It's been years since I have been there but have not forgot those incredible homemade tortilla's and marinated carrots! I had forgotten the name since I haven't been there in about 10 years. I tried finding it today since my hubby and I were in the area, we ended up at another restaurant that was good but not what I was hoping for. If the owner considers more locations I recommend Palmdale! A great area for new restaurants and lots of people. We need a Paco's Taco's out here. Pleeaase!

  • Pros: homemade tortilla's, marinated carrots, atmosphere
  • Cons: parking
