Best food in town.
Food is amazing. Every time I come here, I feel like I never want to leave. Very chic atmosphere with a relaxing mood.
The service is great and the staff really does a terrific job at taking care of you.
The appetizers are delicious.
Theres plenty of places to park: theres a parking lot across the street and a parkin garage up the street within walking distance.
Most of the time I find myself looking at my watch waiting for the food to come, but here I was so entertained with the fun atmosphere that I was pleasantly surprised when my food arrived

Best Albacore sashimi!.
The best Albacore sashimi I've tasted in my life! I've been to many sushi restaurants and Albacore has been one of my least fav.
Upon trying it at Sakura, I've been converted, and fully devoted to ONLY eating Albacore sashimi at Sakura, and no where else!

Sakura Japanese Restaurant Has the Finest and Freshest Fish Around!.
Ironically enough, Sakura Japanese Restaurant is across the street from my favorite bakery (Angel Maid). The sushi is out of this world and that is coming from an avid sushi eater. If you were going to get fish any fresher you?d have to catch and prepare the fish yourself! Great food, wonderful people and always a good crowd. Get there early otherwise you?ll have to wait just a bit, but always worth it! Samlon Skin Salad is always my favorite.

Great Sushi - one of the best in LA.
Friendly service, great sushi, reasonable price - this place is great. Because it's great, you will have to wait for a table. Believe me it's worth it for real, delicious food.

Best Sushi in CULVER CITY.
Pieces are big and the quality is PRIME. I've been in more expensive and fancier places, they could have some resemblance but then you have to pay a lot. If food is great it doesn't hurt that much but Sakura is top quality AND reasonable prices. Yes go order Aburi Toro, Toro, Ono, anything it won't let you down.
Just be patient. The place is full by 6pm and a long list must wait. Don't worry too much, Sake and drinks can make company while table is ready!

Big portions, Not expensive, Always Crowded.
After seeing lines of people trying to get into this place every time I drove by, I decided to try it. The portions are the largest I have seen. The size of the eel was huge. I thought the other review that said it was too much eel and not enough rice was somewhat funny. Some people eat fish without rice.
The fish was fresh. Some of the fish was better than others, unlike higher end sushi places where all the fish is uniformly good. The salmon skin salad was probably the best I have ever had. Sakura is not as good as places like Kanpai on Lincoln, but I was shocked that the bill was only $118, where Kanpai would be $180.
You want better sushi, go to Kiriko on Olympic and get ready for the bill. You want a ton of raw fish at a lower price, Sakura is the place for you.

Editorial Review.
Westsiders endure the long wait list and bento-box sized accomodations at this nondescript Culver City sushi spot.

ood food, decent prices, friendly staff.
The owner, was previously a good waitress at a local resturant, and is almost always in the resturant and is friendly and you feel she concerned with customer satisfaction.
If you get there in "prime" dining hours expect an hour wait, and little standing room, seats to wait outside though..arrive earlier or later..and no wait or not too bad of a wait, you can have a beer or saki while you wait inside.
Nothing fancy here...kind of a family place..but very nice Sushi Bar, and an experianced friendly head chef, the other guys dont talk so much but at least smile .large portions of better than average Sashii..I dont eat rolls but they look good ( My wife is from tokyo and we travel to Japan a lot so have some referance)
If you grab a table the waitress's are friendly and pretty good..at least you get the feeling they are doing their best when it is crowded..unlike some places where they dont seem to give a damn.
The teriaki..Tempura..etc is all good.
Its NOT CHAYA..but if you want some good Japanese food at a reasonable price with no attitude...its Great!!

Tried this place one more time with great results.
I went to this place one more time early around 6 pm and found a seat right away. We had been to Chaya in Venice the night before and comparing prices and quality was easier. The quality was on par, the service was fast and the prices were 30% less on average. The ambience is a bit run-down and the bad chairs do not help. The crowd here is of a different economic ilk than that of Chaya and would never run into them under normal circumstances. Since then, we have been to this place a few times with great results and did not have to wait much. I have noticed seats available as late as 7pm but also lines forming minutes later. I sense that most restaurants are having less business the past few weeks and this place is not an exception. The first time we went there two years back, the long wait on a busy street like centinela was unbearable. I think the eel is the only large item that is oversize and makes it too large to enjoy because you have 5 times as much fish as the rice to accompany it. The toro has had tendons on two occasions and I am would not try it again. the langustine cut roll is awesome. So the trick is to go early when there is seats. I hope this helps.

Quality sushi at a resonable price!.
Fresh and good postions of quality sushi. The place is small and popular so expect a wait. The prices are good too and the cuts of seared tuna are nearly perfect. Service and atmosphere are just average but the sushi quality, quantity and cost is what Sakura offers best.
