Magic. My heart still drops. 2005 was my last visit. 2006 it was all gone and construction work in progress. the best comedy work out bar ever. I still have a drink chip in the hopes that Beno will reopen somewhere else but I have not heard any news of it. God Bless Beno and all the friends I met there....

Four-decade-old family owned and operated West L.A. hole-in-the-wall offers a single pool table, beer, wine and indoor smoking.. The Scene
Opened in the 1960s by Marv and his wife Mary, this tiny neighborhood dive has been charming locals ever since with its down-home atmosphere, no-judgment policy and unrelenting sense of humor. The kitschy sign above the door features a humorous caricature of the bar's namesakes--a perfect reflection of their carefree approach to life, love and business. Little more than a shoebox with liquor license, this strictly beer and wine lounge boasts a devoted circle of friendly laid-back regulars as well as a surprisingly international set from nearby hostels.

The Draw
The personable bartenders keep regulars coming back week after week with their quick wits, friendly advice and philosophies on the meaning of community. Guys mostly nurse beers while playing foosball, pool or cheering on their favorite teams. Some of the women sample the house special called the Frothee: a sugar rimmed mug of Mike's hard lemonade, frozen strawberries, lime and cherry on top.
