dont believe the hype.... waste of time and money
by cherrybombpie
I dont even want to go into specific detail about what a bummer the whole experience has been. The staff acts as if a paying customer is a complete inconvenience. The quality is a joke compared to the price. Im just glad I know better than to ever want to step foot in this place again..... bottom line, ill find a quality bakery that will appreciate my business.
- Pros: cant think of one
- Cons: price, attitude, everything basically
yummy but super snotty
by jjenred5
OK, I love the desserts here. I order from them for gifts all the time. But their staff is just assy!
Honestly people, I know you make amazing stuff and all, but really? Does it really make you that unhappy?
Love the food, hate the 'tude.
- Pros: triple berry cake is delish!
- Cons: annoying staff
The BEST bakery in Los Angeles. BET ON IT!
by YNOT76
Negative reviews about this place only prove one thing:
A lot of STUPID people own computers.
The staff, the food, and the desserts are all excellent. I have had the pleasure of dining here a lot, and even had my wedding cake made here, and it is always excellent.
You have to try the Chocolate Strawberry Shortcake before you die.
- Pros: The best desserts in the city, awesome sandwiches, etc.
- Cons: a lot of self-absorbed needy customers
Not worth the price
by Tony453
Went there today to try their Cakes, ordered a slice of Chocolate cake and a slice of Flan for my wife. Host rudely said $15 even. Thought to my self, this better be the best slice of Cake for $8, especially in this economy. How disappointed I was, will never ever go there again. I rather go to Porto's Bakery in Glendale. They are reasonably priced and you'll never be disappointed with the taste and price. Lady Jane is Not worth the money, may be to the folks around Melrose.
- Pros: None
- Cons: Price, Taste, Rude Host
Awful service
by CSMobileUser2
I've made the mistake of coming here a couple of times, and each time I was appaled by the rudeness of the staff. Not so sweet, this lady Jane. They lack most common courtesy. I will NEVER come here again.
Rude
by CSMobileUser
Its a shame that service is below any standards. Very rude. More then once. Won't go back.
Great Counter worker people, great cakes
by CactusBoi
I just went there this morning to get a cake for a birthday party. I forgot to order in advance, but they had an awesome looking cake (it was chocolate with fudge and espresso). A girl named Debbie helped me. She was so helpful and cute and really knew all the kinds of cakes. At the party, every one freaked out over the cake. It was the best chocolate cake I've ever had. Thanks, Debbie!

I dont know what the person is talking about in the review below. I have been going to Sweet Lady Janes forever and they are Super nice and the cakes are amazing! I am so excited they are open later for Lunch!
- Pros: Awesome lunch, Cakes are very Fresh, staff is super nice
Bad service
by lovefudz
I used to love this place. The ingridients that they used seemed to be high quality. But what I hated about this place has been the type of rude and unprofetional staff that they have hired there. It is shocking to me that the managment never care to teach this people that their job is actualy to great people and serve them. The last time I was there I had to get up and walk out for I could no longer accept their poor service and childish like behaviors.
- Pros: cakes
- Cons: service
BEST LUNCH IN L.A.
by mimi23
This is one of the best lunch spots in L.A. It's a tiny little hole in the wall place without much room so I always get my lunch to go but it's worth it. Their turkey sandwich is to die for. They use their own fresh baked bread and real carved turkey. That's not it though. They're cake is AMAZING. I had the Italian Rum Cake and I was in heaven. It's about seventeen dollars for a sandwich and a slice of cake($7.90 a slice!) but it's so worth it. Lines can be long so I suggest you call in your order.
- Pros: Best cake in L.A.
- Cons: Long lines, tiny place with little room, no restrooms
