Why isn't this place in Zagat?

What a fabulous dinner we had! Great food, great presentation, great wine recommendations...over all, one of the best dining experiences we've had in LA.
A classy Chinese restaurant serving sophisticated versions of traditional dishes.

The Scene
Though dim lights and tasteful taupe slipcovers set the mood for high-end dining, this upscale haunt operates without a hint of attitude. A gracious staff welcomes guests to the small waiting area. And with only a handful of tables occupied at any given time, the noise level rarely rises above a murmur.
The Food
Classic Hong Kong-style fare gets spruced up with touches of elegance. The Peking duck lives up to its billing as the chef's specialty. Served with transparent crepes, the tender slices of meat are first-rate, but the perfectly crisp skin steals the show. Lightly breaded crab claws arrive neatly arranged like flower petals in a crackling clay pot, served with springy, clear noodles. Some prefer to make a meal out of Joss' dim sum-like appetizers, which include dainty crab shui mai stuffed with sprigs of asparagus and crisp lettuce cups loaded with delicately flavored minced quail.
Another Fake Chinese food place!

Fake Chinese food for non-Asians. What more can you say?
- Pros: Free Water
- Cons: Not Authentic, Over priced, MSG on your food

I've been to Ocean Star, and thought it very good, but Joss is a wonderful experiance. I love their dim sum like appetizers, but their Peking duck will blow you away. This place is a notch up from PF Changs, and a whole lot more consistant in the quality of their food. To give this restaurant a three star, in my opinion is absurd. Someone must have had a bad hair day.

One of the best Chinese food that I have tasted in LA. P.S. - There are many other Chinese restaurants that taste better than P.F Chang's, Ocean Star, or the other ones that listed here..... go drive around the San Gabriel, Alhambra, or Rosemead areas, you will be suprised!:) Hint: Try one of those Cafes on Valley Blvd.
