great staff... terrible owner
by curlsncurls at Citysearch
So... you'd think if you got a haircut off of Rodeo Drive in Beverly Hills, you'd walk out feeling and looking like the million bucks that the area smells of. Yeah... no. Maybe not.
The salon is owned by a woman, who I believe needs to throw in the towel. After 40 years of cutting, maybe it's time to retire. Batia, if you're reading this, I hope you consider this.
After waiting 2 hours, to receive a 5 minute cut, which wasn't worth the over $100 bill that followed, was really disheartening. I was casted on the sidelines, as other more, 'prosperous' looking customers were treated ahead of me.
This seems to be a salon where it may have, once upon a time, been an establishment fueled in its integrity, passion and true customer care, and has since developed an overconfidence which has put its customer care on the backburner and instead has become an assembly line of 'more people, more money, in less time'.
It's very sad because the staff are amazing, who should step out of being employees and perhaps go into business themselves and tell their boss to f*ck herself.
2 Star Rating... 1 star to the girl who washed my hair, the other star for the guy behind the desk- you guys need to get the hell out of that place, you're too good.
- Pros: friendly staff
- Cons: owner needs to throw in the towel

The Holy Grail for Curly Hair!
by citysear at Citysearch
Batia gave me the haircut I had been seeking my entire life.
If you have curly, wavy or frizzy hair and want a beautiful cut,
don't think twice. I sat and watched Batia cut for about
three hours. Every man and woman looked gorgeous when
they left her. Short or long hair, young or old - Batia gives a stunning cut
and makes you look beautiful.
- Pros: Classy but casual salon with great energy, everyone was eager to please.
- Cons: Absolutely none.
Best haircut and style
by SarahGordon at Citysearch
I walked into the salon with long, thick, wavy/frizzy, shapeless hair that had a few layers. I walked out with long layered curls that actually had a shape. They get it for those of you with crazy hair. The other stylists I have gone to in the past were too scared to get in there with the scissors or if they did they made a mess and I wound up with what looked like 2 different haircuts. Batia took her time during the cut to see how my hair fell. The products are also fabulous and the gel is a must before diffusing.
- Pros: great stylist and great products
- Cons: none
Did not meet my expectations
by x_valleygirl at Citysearch
I like their product line and was really hoping that this experience would be a good one. My appointment was with Batia who cut my hair and convinced me to color my roots although I was not planning on it. She quoted a price for cut and color which I agreed to. She colored my hair a much darker color then I wanted she also covered over my highlights which I asked her not to do.
Her assistant proceeded to curl and blowdry my hair. I mentioned to both of them that I would not be doing that myself since I don't have that kind of time in the morning before work. What they came up with was a head of ringlet style curls that is cute but is not really my style.
I know everyone raves about Batia's haircutting skills for curly hair but I have to disagree again. It seems that after she cuts the hair she styles it in such a way that covers up her mistakes and makes the cut look good. If the customer is not able to duplicate the style or does not want that particular style the haircut is useless.
This morning I tried to put my hair in a ponytail and not only is it sticking up every which way. One side is longer then the other.
Batia then charged me 100.00 more then originally agreed on (because I had so much hair and she had to use more hair color!)
The price she quoted me was when I was in her chair and she was examining my hair. She knew exactly what kind of hair and how much of it I had. She also sold me a "Hair cream" from Israel which I did not want. It smells terrible.
I agree with previous reviewers that Batia is pushy and dismissive. This place cost way too much \and did not even come close to meeting my expectations. What a waste.
- Pros: Line of hair care products is very good
- Cons: pushy, do not listen to customers, dismissive, not worth the money
Marco is a tweezing maverick...
by xioben at Citysearch
I have tried many, many threaders and before Marco I was never satisfied. Marco offers top of the line service. He is an absolute perfectionist, a consummate eyebrow artist. If you need someone to sculp not scalp, then he is the guy for you. I have seen Marco arch the straightest brows and fix the most impossible mistakes. I have recommended him to my closest friends and they have all come away with fantastic results. Highly, highly recommended.
- Pros: Marco is the greatest eyebrow threader...make up artist...professional
- Cons: He(Marco) is in high demand...good luck getting an appointment.

Threading is the new black!
by hollywood_lady at Citysearch
This was my first experience with this particular technique. And experiencing it with Marco was phenomenal. He is brilliant! I?m typically a waxer, I have been for years. I had planned on visiting a certain someone famous for waxing in Beverly Hills however a friend of mine highly recommended Marco. She said to give him a try and if it came out bad she?d pay for my visit to the waxing solon. So I gave it a shot. I made my appointment and got right in. Marco has amazing client service his kind and welcoming demeanor made the new experience all the better. I sat back and let the genus go to work. When it was all over I couldn?t believe my eyes i was speechless my brows were beautiful, the best they have ever looked. I appeared younger and more alive. I don?t know what I was doing before I discovered him. I?m glad I listened to my friend, I found a treasure, and he charged half of what I would have paid at the other place. I will never wax again.
Thank you Marco!

BEST EYEBROW THREADING ARTIST IN THE WORLD!
by faith_caldwell at Citysearch
I live in New York and often visit LA to see my family. I was introduced to Marco ,"The best threading artist in the world" by a cousin of mine. Her and I agree that Marco can transform your face with his impecable technique. I've been to many shops in New York and LA and haven't found anyone better. He's truly superior. Once you've had the Marco experience, you'll never go back to anybody else.

Also good at cutting hair
by krishoel at Citysearch
These stylists are also good at cutting hair. If you want something beautiful, yet conservative, go to Batia. She excels at this. If you want something super modern, go to Aleeza. She seems to know what the next "in" look is even before anyone else does.

- Pros: Clearly know what they are doing and clearly love doing it.
- Cons: Not all of their staff is as talented.
