okay I guess

by ladydi71 at Citysearch

While shopping near her location, I decided to give Ripsy a try , after what I had heard about her. I could not find out much about her or her place, since she has no website. However she was very very nice, and new her work well, but for the wait time (being a small place), and for the price, I'll stick with

l.a. vie l'orange, which while they are still a boutique, have more techs, better pricing and value, and specialize in nail growth, nail care, and can remove acrylic nails painlessly.

  • Pros: she knows her work
  • Cons: price, wait time, small location no website

Wonderful!

by aimeestaar at Citysearch

I've been a client of Ripsy's for almost 10 years. I have tried other places, and have not had results like I have had with Ripsy. My nails grow strong, and beautiful, with monthly visits and personal upkeep. She's wonderful, the environment is intimate and quiet. I love going to Ripsy!

  • Cons: Call way ahead, because she's usually booked.

Manicure and pedicures are customized to your needs

by santorini22 at Citysearch

I saw Ripsy about a week ago for a mani/pedi and loved it, shes so precise about everything she does, she sold me a product to use at home to maintain my beautiful nails because shes so hard to get in with, she was very honest in telling me I dont need to see her that often!! Loved Her!!!

Best Pedicure.

by tayla at Citysearch

Ripsy is hard to get in with!!!! But once you're in, you're in her hands for life. She does very detailed work and she's very knowledgable about foot problems and nail concerns. She's a bit on the pricey side, but well worth it, if you ask me.

  • Pros: Great manicures and pedicure. Great personal attention.
  • Cons: Parking can be a problem, because she doesn't validate for the underground lot.

Not as fabulous as I expected

by sablouwho at Citysearch

Good mani/pedis, but at this price they should be spectacular. The pedi no longer includes a massage or scrub, for $75 I think I should get a both! All my manis were w/ clear strengthener (which I was told I needed to use at home) to "treat" my nails and make them healthier--only then could I have color. Except my nails are in good shape! None of the $$ stuff she sold me made an iota of difference in my nail health or growth (except the pedi pumice, the best I've ever used, too bad she sells it for $9, after looking at the label at home I saw it sells on Amazon for $3). She's pleasant enough, but this just isn't worth it.

  • Pros: skilled operator, personal attention, quiet atmosphere
  • Cons: tough to get appt, overpriced, no cream, massage...

Treat yourself to the finest holistic manicure in town, hands down.

by Andrea Rademan at Citysearch

The Scene
Why do celebrity clients such as Jada Pinkett and Will Smith, Steve Martin and Ringo Starr treat themselves to manicures in this small, spare room overlooking a quiet courtyard? The appeal is Ripsy's personal attention, expert care and warm personality.

The Services
A former violinist, Ripsy Alexanian knows that hand care is more than merely a cosmetic issue. She restores and repairs nails with traditional, painless Chinese techniques. The routine begins with an exfoliating scrub and an individually blended masque for the skin, followed by reflexology to ease sensitive areas. Then comes a soak in energizing crystals, cuticle care with a special pumice stick and moisturizer to nourish the nail root. Ripsy shapes each nail according to its natural contours to maximize strength.

The Beverly Hills Nail Nurse!!!

by wunderwoman at Citysearch

Is there a doctor in the house??? Well, there is a doctor at Verabella & a nurse, but Ripsy is the one to see if your feet have an emergency. She will make them feel as if they're in the ICU for about 2 hours. Her pedicures are legendary and her manicures are great too. I highly recommend calling ahead if you want to get in soon. She books up fast, because once you go to her, you become her client for life. I'm lucky enough to be her client for the past 7 years, since she joined Verabella Skin Therapy. Now, have my facials, Botox, & Ripsy all in one place. It's like my home away from home.

  • Pros: lovely setting, great service, great salon
