WORST JAPANESE FOOD/SUSHI EVER!!!!!!! -- ARIAKE, LOS ANGELES
by 77lucyliu
We paid $40 for two "lunch specials", which consisted of bad sushi, tasteless california rolls, old/brown vegetables and worst of all......hard as rock, salmon. They even managed to screw up on the green tea -- it came out lukewarm/cold. I was very very disappointed with this restaurant. The prices were completely over-priced for what they had to offer! My food looked as if it had been sitting in the back of the kitchen for months! I came out of the restaurant hungry. I won't ever go back.

On busy nights, everyone seems to be yelling sushi chef Steve's name as he walks around like a popular celebrity. The spicy tuna crunch is a must try. Their sushi is a good sized portion. Depending on the time and night, the sushi varies from outstanding to standard, but it's always fresh and the atmosphere is nice and low key.
- Pros: Sushi Bar, Free Parking, Spicy Tuna Crunch
- Cons: Jealous Roll a little too deep fried
Low key, always fresh

Excellent neighborhood restaurant

quieter than Crazy Fish, excellent bar service, table service can be a little sketchy on nights where they are not busy, however, the cooked items on the menu are excellent. The salmon and tofu (cooked) are to die for. Sushi pieces are a good size and nice & fresh
If crazy fish repulses you then try this

Love this place!

No, it's not Matsuhisa or Sasabune but that's what I like about Ariake. I love this place because it's consistently fresh, tasty, low-key, convenient and very reasonable. Free parking, centrally located in Beverly Hills and hardly ever a wait.
