What a ruccus

by magicloop2009

I saw Hillary Duff come out of a limo to a permiere here. The food is lousy, not enough theatres, too crowded, and the movie projector seems to have a problem. I saw rodents and the quality of sound if always having an off day.

  • Pros: Movie stars come and there are premieres
  • Cons: Prices Prices Prices

opening day: eat your heart out here

by rachel1215

when a movie opens (and youre a fanatic with a star wars/superman/pirate costume to tout), then you go here. grab a bunch of friends and stock up on jose bernstein or bj's pizza followed by a diddy ice-cream sandwich as you wait in line. the audience is lively--be prepared to hear people react to the film. when i saw Killl Bill here, the audience got so into it that at each chapter and everytime Uma kicked butt, everyone would clap. im not big on sound quality but you can hear the difference here. to top it off, the place is classicly beautiful.

park at broxton for two hrs free and after 6pm, the flat rate is only $3.

  • Pros: premieres and opening day, active n' enthused audience, sound quality
  • Cons: loud kids n too-cool-for school teenagers making out

A classic

by chains007

Everyone needs to see a movie here once - it's one of the rare single theaters left in this country - and one of the best. Of course, many movie premieres take place here, and that alone is worth the price of admission. Surprisingly huge inside - 2 levels. You don't get the fancy stadium seating here, but the screen is big enough to make up for any obstacles in your line of sight

a.k.a. The Fox

by faerywalsh

The Fox Theater is great on opening nights with a lively college crowd. If you can manage it, try the movie from the first row in the balcony. Sometimes the movies can be loud, so this is a great place to see it all, yet be back from the speakers a bit.

Also, this is a great place to watch the crowds for the eventful premiers found at the theater around the year.

  • Pros: Atmosphere, Lively

Nice place to see a movie

by ProfessorChaos

While it's no Grauman's, the Village place is a great place to catch the latest blockbuster. I'm lucky enough to live near the Village, and I prefer seeing a movie here over another theater, unless it's something like the Matrix or X2, which I catch at Grauman's first. Big screen, great atmosphere, student discount, wonderful THX, digital projection for certain movies, and a charming decor you won't find at a multi-plex, what's not to love? Buy some $.35 cookies from Diddy Reese to munch on and you're in for a great evening.

  • Pros: THX, decor, popcorn, student discount, atmosphere
  • Cons: uncomfortable seats, not enough leg room
