I just moved to the LA area and have been in search of a great salon. After reading the reviews on citysearch, I decided to give Planet Salon a try. I had an appointment with Elle and she added all over color and highlights to my hair. I basically told her what I didn't want and said "Other than that, do whatever you want." She was super excited to do her own thing - which I love. My color came out amazing! Very natural, but also fun. Elle's got sort of a rockstar look - while I do NOT. I appreciate that she took into consideration what would work for me but still made it young and fun. Also, she didn't cut my hair but she styled it better than it's ever been done before. I'll definitely be back!

ELLE IS THE BEST

You will not be disappointed here. This is a great place !!! ELLE cut 's my hair. OMG, it is one of my most treasured indulgences, and I am getting so many compliments on my hair, which she knows just how to cut as it is growing longer and healthier than ever. The haircut seems to last forever. I am happy the moment I set foot in there. Elle has such an amazingly relaxing touch throughout the whole experience. I've never met a more creative, professional stylist. I'm hooked for life!

Best hair salon ever

I have waist length colored hair and usually have cut it myself because i have such horrible experiences every time someone else touches it This salon is friendly, clean, stylish and the people are really nice. They listened to everything I had to say in detail, looked at the photos I brought. They cut y hair into really nice modern layers and really nice highlights. My hair was damaged and almost black with no style to it and they really repaired it. The little treats you get like massage and tea are awesome and make you feel like youre at a luxury spa instead of a rushed awful place like most salons. and everythings all natural and not tested on animals instead of being harsh stinky chemicals. super expensive but worth it.

• Pros: Ambiance, Skill, Atmosphere, them listening to you and giving you exactly what you want

A positive experience all the way around!

I can't recommend this salon enough. Their attention to detail and service is excellent. They are nice, friendly, welcoming and amazing at what they do. I work with Dean for color. He is so talented and really nice. Gino cuts my hair and is just a pleasure to work with. My cuts are amazing and I get so many positive comments on my hair. Roxy has been doing my brows and is just great! Again, they pay attention to details and ask all the right questions. Everyone is thoughtful there from offering wonderful tea or coffee, to complimentary hand and arm massage, to making sure you are comfortable while you are there. These folks understand what good customer service is. What more can you ask for...a company AVEDA doing the right thing in manufacturing/quality/natural products, great atmosphere and talented/nice professionals!? This is a must do!

Best hair color this side of Texas

Moving here from texas I was refered from my Aveda salon there to Charles at Planet Salon for my color. I thought that the salon in Texas did an ok job and never questioned it because my hair looked like every one elses hair....in TEXAS!!! Not only did he correct the color with natural looking auburn and caramel tones but my hair has never looked so healthy and shiny. The salon was very inviting and comfortable for a Beverly Hills Salon and the complementary hand massages and neck and shoulder massages are to die for. Charles was very professional and educational. He explained exactly what he was going to do, what to expect and what his plan for the future of my hair was going to be. Talk about building my confidence!!! They only use Aveda products including the hair color. Charles recommended Carrie for a curt and I can't wait until my next visit.

The staff was rude, self-absorbed, pretentious,

and arrogant - just the stereotype one expects

of Beverly Hills! Shame on the owner for tolerating

such dysfunctional behavior at her place of business.

Go to amazing Hyunsoo, who trained under John Sahag,

at down-to-earth Piero in Santa Monica, where people

know how to communicate and are nice - for a fabulous cut.

Prices are great, too, because the owner knows that

we're more than the hair on our head - we have minds too!

Precision haircut and styling. Fun atmosphere.

I've had terrific experience at Planet Salon and always left each appointment as a 100% satisfied customer. I have absolute confidence in the quality service that I receive from every stylist in the place. Everyone there makes you feel welcome and special, and that their goal is to ensure that each client is relaxed and ends up being truly pleased with their own appearance. Very professional and reliable, but also a lot of fun.

THE WORST SALON EVER!!!!!!!!!! NOT WORTHY OF AVEDA NAME

FOR THOSE OF YOU WHO DO NOT LIKE TO READ - A PICTURE IS WORTH A THOUSAND WORDS - GO TO MY REVIEW ON YELP AND THERE IS A LINK THERE.

HERE IS A QUICK UPDATE: I only have like five minutes to update this so I will fix it later - but I just came back from an appointment with Planet Salon - and it was A RIDICULOUS AND ANNOYING experience- instead of just apologizing and sending me a refund for my horrible hair color in the mail - they give me the impression that they are going to fix my hair - so i go in this morning so happy to get my hair back to normal - and the guy sits me down and makes me explain everything that I have already been explaining to him via email for the past few days - than he precedes to tell me there is nothing they can do - IT WAS SUCH A WASTE OF TIME _ but than on top of all of that the guy precedes to passively aggressively insult me- he did that thing where people insult you while smiling - or in other-words he is the classic FAKE and SHALLOW hollywood - he brought me in BECAUSE THEY WANTED ME TO TAKE MY REVIEW DOWN OFF OF YELP!!!!! ALL I CAN SAY IS DO NOT GO TO THIS SALON FOR ANY SERVICE - AND TELL YOUR FRIENDS TO AVOID THEM - oh yeah and after i was done with them and leaving the salon the guy followed me out the door as i was walking down the street saying more offensive things to my back - it was like some kind of harassment - and than when i went back in to tell them that was so inappropriate - they all stood there with blank faces and hollow eyes confused why i was upset!!!! ALL I CAN SAY IS PLEASE I BEG YOU LEARN FROM MY BAD EXPERIENCE AND AVOID THIS SALON AT ALL COSTS!!!! IT WILL SAVE YOU TIME, MONEY AND GETTING UPSET... i still need to figure out what i am going to do about the harassment that this guy did to me as i was leaving the salon. my friend told me i should get a lawyer - i think it is so absurd that my hair could turn into such an ordeal - this is nuts!!!!

DEAN AND CARRIE ARE THE BEST!!!

I get my hair colored by Dean and Carrie cuts it. I have been to TONZ of Salon's in LA and this is BY FAR my absolute favorite. I HIGHLY recommend both Dean and Carrie. Whenever I go anywhere there is someone that comments on how awesome my hair looks. They both listen to exactly what it is you want and even if you are not sure what it is you want, they will suggest something that looks good with your skin color or face shape. Whenever I got into Planet it is always such an experience and I feel so relaxed. The service is amazing and I am always happy when I leave. Make sure to book your apt. in advance because they can book up fast (especially on weekends). I promise the wait is WORTH IT!!
