Control the talkers or refund my ticket.

For as much as I pay to see a film at Arclight ($14 on Fridays) I expect to watch my film in a pristine setting. I pay this much because I am serious about the film I am about to watch. Unfortunately, Arclight staff are either unwilling or unable to provide me with the "luxury experience" they promise. I went to a showing of BU G last Friday night where phones were ringing, people were talking at full volume, and babies were crying ( why are infants even allowed in an 11 PM screening of a horror film on a Friday night????). I even went so far as to miss a large section of the film while I tracked down several ushers and then BEGGED them to come in and shush some of the talkers. That helped for exactly five minutes before the people went right back to their loud conversations. The ushers never bothered to check in again.
This was only one of many bad experiences I have had at Arclight. If I want to be around rude people, I'll visit my local AMC. But when I visit the most high tech, luxury theater in Los Angeles (possibly in the country) I expect to be able to enjoy my film in a suitable environment.
Arclight needs to find a way to deal with these problems. A simple request for quiet at the beginning of the movie is not enough. Ushers need to be in the theaters, handling the talkers IMMEDIATLY. And unless it's a kiddie film, they need to follow the example of most other high priced theaters in the country, and ban infants.
- Pros: Reserved Seating, Pristine Prints, Great Sound
- Cons: For this price, it should be SILENT in there. Or at least quiet.

It's hard to miss this eye-catching cinematic landmark just west of Sunset and Vine. Home to the Cinerama Dome--the geodesic-shaped theater originally built in 1963--this multiplex has all the modern amenities moviegoers have come to expect. Reserved seating? No problem. Pick your seats ahead of time, print the tickets and forget about waiting in line. (Although you can kick it old school and buy tickets directly at the "departure board" if that's your thing.) Comfortable seats? You bet. The plush recliners offer three extra inches of seating space compared to other theaters and the adjustable armrests allow you to cozy up next to your partner. (If you want to, that is.) Gourmet concessions? Absolutely. Choose from popcorn with (real) butter, fresh-made caramel corn, apple-sage chicken sausages and plenty of candy. There's also an onsite restaurant and bar (which, incidentally, provides cocktails for the special 21+ screenings) and a cool gift shop. On weekend nights there's a coffee and tea stand where guests can grab a hot drink and Susina cookie before the show. Once you're in, get ready for the ushers to guide you to your seat and introduce each screening with a short speech.

This perfectly located cinema is one of my favorite in all of L.A. They always are showing the movies I want to see and there's a lot of fun places around to go after. Club Sushi anyone?
- Pros: My favorite in town

Best Cinema in Town
by vivaciousdivah at Citysearch
The Arc Light cinemas are the best in L.A. especially in Hollywood. I just love the area because its surrounded by all these architecturally splendid buildings and great eateries like Club Sushi. I think a salmon roll and a ticket to see the Fast and the Furious may be the highlight of my weekend.
is this for reals?!

Best Movie Experience
by samsooni at Citysearch
Arclight offers the best movie-watching experience for any movie-buff. Though the $12 and up ticket prices are a little steep, they're totally worth it for reserved plush comfortable seats, a clean theater, a great choice of movies, and a fantastic projection system. I come here to watch the big blockbuster movies for the most cinematic experience. I'm going to watch Fast and Furious here soon. Just look for the giant sphere dome near Amoeba music and Club Sushi and you'll find the popular and suave Arclight theater.
- Pros: theater, movies
- Cons: prices
Great Movie Theatre for a DATE
by 3cp at Citysearch
At first I was a little skeptic of paying higher prices for assigned seating...but I most admit it's never been a problem getting into the movie that I want! It's definitely a movie to take a "first" date...

Where else can you ensure that you have the best seats before the show even starts! I love this place and every other theater pales in comparison!
- Pros: Online seat selection, comfortable seats, great staff
- Cons: always, always busy!
