Feel the theater as it used to be
by tjgav at Citysearch
Real seats, realy neat egyptian deco, this place has lots of character. A statement usualy reserved for a dorky date. But the sound system is great, the screen is big enough. The seats are great and even though it plays top movies it's often not packed. I come from Burbank to go there and it's worth it.
- Pros: Apnosphere, Not crowed, A/V is great
- Cons: Parking, a bit out of the way

What can you say ! plenty of charm and history!!!!
very beautiful inside and way bigger then it looks from the outside ! Friendly staff too!
What I love the most is the seating there , is so much room between you and the row of seats in front of you that people can walk past you and you don't have to get up ..lol
and the seat are nice as well ! so just outside of Hollywood where Sunset Blvd. meets Hollywood Blvd.
Simply the Best!

Victor, thank you for all the years of memorable movie going adventure. This theater provides trully one-of-a-kind experience!
Plenty of leg room, as every other raw is removed for your privacy and comfort.

I am so lucky to have this theater right by my home. Love catching a movie here - the screen is good sized, seats are comfortable. Manager is cool. All around, a great neighborhood theater. This is what every neighborhood should have! Haha but ya don't!
Best movie theater in LA!
by MauraM at Citysearch
Best movie theater in LA! Matinee tickets are only $6.50. The manager dresses up for each movie (but not for District 9 - he said the alien costume was too difficult to pull together :)). Tons of leg room! One theater, large screen. It's THE place to see a movie in the Hollywood area. Go Vista!
- Pros: one theater, large screen, lots of leg room
- Cons: difficult to purchase tickets ahead of time

Best theater on the East Side
by Denton at Citysearch
If this place were a woman, it might be Arianna Huffington. Classy, well-proportioned, mature, and not too high-maintenance. The accent just takes it over the top. Take the $14.50 matinee Arclight money, and get you a ticket, pepsi, candy, and a large popcorn with Real Butter (tm) at the Vista.
- Pros: Vintage Art Deco, Cheap, Roomy, Good Movie Selection
- Cons: Parking can be tough
A Real Treat
by solamia at Citysearch
I love going to the movies not sitting at home watching them. LA has really great theaters over all but this one really stands out. It's a real experience watching a movie here. Plus they only play one movie at a time which makes it feel much more special (giving it that small neighborhood vibe that Silverlake is known for).
It's the place to see a movie if you want a true night out, not just to go watch any ole movie at any ole theater.
- Pros: Vibe, Movie Selection, Overall Feeling
- Cons: Parking
Richly decorated neighborhood indie movie house puts boring multiplexes to shame.

After several improvements over the years, this 80-year-old theater now has a huge screen, digital surround sound and a veneer of newness. Decked out in an ancient-Egypt-meets-art-deco style that seems uniquely Hollywood, this Los Feliz institution thrills moviegoers with lustrous pharaoh heads, serpents and other pyramid paraphernalia. First-run Hollywood flicks, mainstream indie pictures and occasional vintage reels for film buffs all play here.
Right here in our neighborhood

First class adventure, very at home experience ( careful where you park even on sundays, avoid the little permit only streets)
- Pros: service, atmosphere nice
- Cons: parking
Great Independent Theater and Love the Restoration
by porkjello at Citysearch
The Vista is a historic theater in the Silverlake/East Hollywood area that has been restored with roomier seats and an updated sound system. This is how I remember what going to the movies was like as a kid. One theater showing one movie (or sometimes a double feature) . I'd rather watch a movie here than at some generic multiplex.
