My 12 year old daughter just got back from Knotts yesterday where she attended a birthday party for one of her class mates. The only thing she could talk about were all the strange people that she saw there and how they scarred her.. She said the place was full of "goth" people and kids with excessive amounts of piercings and tattoos, and it made her feel uncomfortable. She was particularly scared of one goth kid who had white contacts in his eyes ...... She also said that the staff wasn't very friendly... She made the comment "It's no Disneyland". As a parent, I don't want my kids put into an environment that makes them feel uncomfortable or presents a bad influence on them. I'm sure we'll never go to Knotts again and I'll recommend to the school districts that they continue to go the Disney for their school outtings....... As it appears that Knotts is looking at Magic Mountain as a business model instead of raising it's standards to that of Disney..

Pros: It's close to those who live in O.C.

Cons: Dirty, unfriendly staff, don't expect Disneyland......

In the "Land of Disney", I have to say that my favorite theme park is actually Knott's. As a native Angeleno, I've been visiting Knott's for decades. It's changed a lot over the years (like all the theme parks), but they've held onto many of the things I love about this park. The old western town...the midway games...and it's still one of the few places I can get a truly mouth-puckering pickle right out of a huge wooden barrel. Of course, these days they are famous for their Halloween Haunt, but throughout the rest of the year, it's still fun. Of course, there's always fried chicken and boysenberry syrup!!

Cons: pricey admission

I think it's ridiculous how they oversell the Knotts Scary Farm event. Couldn't even get close enough to tell you if it sucked or not. I'm sure once we got in the lines would be too long and the crowds too frustrating to even enjoy ourselves. After dropping $46 per ticket, we decided to turn around and come home...drink some beer and just watch scary movies instead.

Pros: Nada

Cons: Just plain crowded. Expect to sit in traffic for hours and forget about finding parking

We went to the Halloween Haunt the night before Halloween and it was a big disappointment. The park was too overcrowed to enjoy, it was an effort just walking around trying to avoid walking into people. The lines to any of the decent rides/mazes were way too long for any sane person to stand in. The extremely strict security checks were a sign of what was to come inside, mostly a young crowd of 'punks'...not a good vibe at all...

Pros: Inventive attractions

Cons: Too crowded

I'm from Indiana and went to to Knott's Berry Farm while visiting family in CA. I would recommend getting the California Tour gift package or whatever so you can go to CA best tourist locations. That's the whole reason why we went to KBF. I wasn't sure what to expect from KBF at first. After about an hour, I was having the time of my life. If you are familiar with Cedar Point in OH (the best roller coaster park in the world), you'll LOVE KBF. All the rides had no more than 15 min wait. The crowds were low and the food delicious. If you want to the fun of Cedar Point but not the crowds, Knott's Berry Farm is the place for you. Also, outside the park they have an identical replica of Independence Hall where you can go in and tour. Pretty neat.

Pros: Lines, Rides, Prices

Cons: Bathrooms

Yes, I love Six Flags Parks, but they seem so unwelcoming. They just tell you to get in, go on our rides, and get out. None of them have their own websites, either. They rely on Six Flags to do that for them. They don't make their own decisions, and the parks are almost always dirty and the lines are huge. Knotts though, is AMAZING. So you're a thrill seeker? Go on Ghost Rider, Xcelerator, ect. So you're scared of that? Go on other rides, or hang out at Camp Snoopy with your kids. Also, the service is great. And for people who heard about the accident where that woman fell off? That was before they had OTS seatbelts and she was being stupid and stood up during the drop. Don't let that stop you from going on it. If you are stopping in California, make this a main priority.

Pros: Rides, Friendly Staff, Prices

Cons: None.

I love to go to this park and have since I was a kid. The rides are great, and the lines are short. They have a great stunt show that I absolutely love. Unlike other parks like Disneyland and Six Flags they have great rides for the thrill seekers and fun rides for kids. Camp Snoopy is a great place for kids. Ghostrider is a great ride for the more thrill seeking people. They also have Accelerator which is great. The new ride, Silver Bullet, is all right but not great. It has good dessert too.

Pros: rides , price , short lines

Cons: none

I love the rides here, and the lines here the lines are short. The rides here are as thrilling as in Magic Mountain ( maybe even better). If you go you have the best ride there , which is Supreme Scream. Knott's is the best overall.

If you want to avoid the long lines at Magic Mountain with a lesser number of rides and lesser thrills, head to Knottsberry farm. Located in Buena Park, with Soak City right next to it. The Ghost Rider is one of the best wooden rollercoasters out there , and don't miss the Supreme Scream (take your shoes off for this one). If you get tired by evening, go for the log ride.... its nice and relaxing.

Pros: shorter wait lines, family atmosphere, friendly staff

Cons: 8$ parking!
