WORST EXPERIENCE EVER

by kanester at Citysearch

TERRIBLE TERRIBLE SERVICE! They should be ashamed of themselves running a business so poorly for the prices they charge.

I took my husband here for his birthday and really wanted him to have a nice experience, however the SERVER was LAZY and RUDE. Other than a bit of attitude, she was fairly attentive until she served the meal, then she disappeared completely. We wanted a cup of coffee for dessert and she was nowhere to be found! I then spotted her across the room in the far corner, watching and grooving to the show, and waved to her to get her attention. She had to have seen me, because I stood up several times. Finally my husband went TO GO GET HER . When she finally came over, we asked for coffee and she said, "Oh, you really don't want any coffee 'cause then I'd have to make a whole new batch. Yeah, you really don't want any coffee." I couldn't believe what I heard. I then told the manager who acted as if that was no big deal. This place is terrible. Do yourself a favor and stay away! There are better places out their that don't DIS their customers.

Great Music, Poor Management - and finally closed!

by ZenBoogie at Citysearch

Not surprising. My band, ZEN BOOGIE has played there several times over the last five years, and I have to tell you the sense was from our on stage experience to our fans enjoyment of coming out to see us play there, the place was getting worse and worse. (You can treat the band bad, but don't mess with our fans!) Over priced (after you pay $15 to park at Citywalk and another 15 to get in the door), poor service, and personally, I lost money when the video we paid them to make never came out the last time we played there and the club never repaid me for the money given them in advance. So bad feelings all around.

(To try to "make amends", they booked us for May 10th to video again. Then the place closes April 30th... You have to laugh.)

ZEN BOOGIE has re-booked itself at The Palmer Room for the following Saturday night, May 17th in West LA. You can see our My Space page at myspace/zenboogie

BB Kings Club shut down!!

by HatchM at Citysearch

I called their main number and got a referral # 818 777-1000 and was told it was allover. Poor management for sure. The operator said they may relocate. I guess to poor service and inconistant food finally caught up with them. Sad to see this happen under the name of the great BB King. May the blues live on forever.

Great Food and Music will be back often

by JEMSIM at Citysearch

I went to BB Kings on Saturday, April 26 2008 for our anniversary dinner. IT WAS FABULOUS! We had good steak ,okra, mashed potato's, macaroni & cheese and an awesome Pear Blossom Martini. We topped off the meal with the best peach cobbler I have ever seen.

THE MUSIC WAS INCREDIBLE! NU Genesis was off the chain.

Unbelievably Bad

by rthirteen at Citysearch

Where do I begin to explain how this was by far my worst dining experience ever? Our reservations were for 6pm. We and about 8 to 10 other couples arrived at that time and were told that they would not be opening until 6:30 because they had to clean up from some event they hosted earlier. The sign on the door clearly states that they open at 6pm. Once we were finally seated the service was horrible. We had to ask for menus 15 minutes after being seated, after we had to ask the waitress to clean the table of crumbs. Once our order was finally placed we did not see the waitress for at least 30 minutes, so we could not order any more drinks. Not that this was a concern to the waitress due to the fact that it is BB Kings policy that a 15% gratuity is added to every bill. So she had no incentive to offer satisfactory service. Our party of 8 had a show at the Ampitheatre at 8:15, so we figured 2 hours and 15 minutes is more than enough time to eat. We were wrong. Five of us were finished eating while 3 of us were still waiting on food at 8:10, even though we all ordered at the same time. We paid early so we could just leave after we ate, but because 3 people did not eat we had to wait for them to be refunded their money. And to make matters worse the food was mediocre at best. When our concerns were brought to the manager's attention he acted as if we were inconveniencing him. WORST DINING EXPERIENCE EVER!!! PLEASE DO NOT SPEND YOUR MONEY WITH THIS ESTABLISHMENT!!!!

  • Pros: There were none.
  • Cons: Service, attitudes of employees, food, management

This place gave me the 'Blues'

by therealdiningdiva at Citysearch

HORRIBLE! Where do I begin....Well it all started with being misinformed about where the VIP area will be. But first, The "wristband chick" gave my friend the wrong wrist band (wristband chick was busy flirting with a security guard) so once we entered, the mindless, useless security guard began to sweat my friend and said she couldn't sit with the rest of my party. After 20 minutes of wristband drama, things got resolved. I purchased tickets for a concert here and called to find out where VIP seating is before I even purchased tickets. When I called the club, I was told that VIP tickets are reserved for floor seating. But when I arrived for the show, VIP was upstairs in an order of first come/first serve. So we were shuffled to a corner table, with a poor view of the stage.(Sarcastically) Lucky for us, there was a jumbo screen to watch the stage. I got BAMBOOZLED. Be careful. Secondly, . After we were seated, our waiter asked us how we were doing and I replied, "Not good"...(still mortified from the VIP swindle AND wristband incident). He replied, "Well join the club." Then he proceeded to rush us to order and said, "You betta order NOW because in a minute the kitchen is gonna get real crazy!" Our $12 drinks were served in CLEAR PLASTIC CUPS...Yes plastic cups! While others sipped their drinks from more proper glasses. Food was served lukewarm and bland. There was a host of poor, lousy acts before the main performer who arrived VERY late to the venue. Just a terrible night. I complained to the Manager, LaRae Cecil, who did refund the entire cost of our dinner....a whole 2 1/2 weeks after chasing her by phone & email. I will NEVER-EVER return to BB King's. How's that for a Blue's song.

I love the new changes of BB KINGS

by mtvcasting at Citysearch

Despite the reviews that this club as had in the past, BB Kings has new owners and a staff. Starting in January there will be a fantastic lineup of great concerts, comdey shows and there are even talks of starting up the first offical gospel nightclub hosted by a very well known artist. The food has already been improved with a new chef that has the place filled. And the parking has now become valet access. Mon-Thurs parking is only $3.00 flat. You can't beat that anywhere. I see a very birght future for BB KINGS

  • Pros: They have a new chef. The concert lineups are amazing and the parking is cheaper now than any other place I've been to. They even valet
  • Cons: Wish it was big enough to see major concerts but what the heck its a club and the atmosphere is very intimate

Do me a favor and don't support this establishment

by lenabean82 at Citysearch

Do you enjoy being ignored? Do you enjoy waiting and waiting for someone to even acknowledge your presence? Do you enjoy waiting and waiting and waiting for sub-standard food? Did I mention that you have to do a lot of waiting? Then by all means go to BB King?s and give them a good review on citysearch, but for the rest of the world, please avoid this place like the plague. The service was terrible, the food was terrible and the prices were terrible.

  • Pros: The music.
  • Cons: Everything else.

You can't rate a place a five when 11 out of 17 says it's a rip off.

by tienlung at Citysearch

I've been there 6 times over the past 3 years and it's always the same. You have to pay too much for parking, cover, food and drinks. All of the bad things in the previous reviews are true. Anyone who enjoys it, is unaware they were cheated or has so much money it doesn't matter. If you read the post they were either there the same night or it sounds like a well prepared ad. 1 night out of 365 is not a very good average. As far as their 5 star rating, it's paid for. Out of the 18 reviews so far 12 are very bad. Not just so so, but very bad. Theres a clue in there somewhere don't you think?

  • Pros: Nice sign.
  • Cons: Yes it is a con.

McDonalds is better.....

by minkeyman at Citysearch

If you like extremely high prices and low quality food this tourist trap is for you. The chicken tasted like it was nuked, i.e it was very tough and rubbery. Though the jambalaya was full of chicken and sausage, it lacked real flavor. A big plate of food that served no other purpose, other than to fill an empty stomach. Also, there was only 2 of us at dinner and the tip was also added in the bill.
