SOOOOOOOOOOOO EXPENSIVE!

by radiancelee at Citysearch

ok silly me, what did i expect when i made reservations for sunday brunch - a good deal? no, that is not what you get when you come to the four seasons hotel. you get to rub elbows with celebrities though. We were seated one table away from Macy Gray while we were helping ourselves from the OVERWHELMING array of buffet items: don't get me wrong: the food is delicious, but if you have a small stomach, the spread isnt worth the $70 flat fee per head. and where they got me was the liqour. i was naive enough to expect that the high asking price included at least my petite flute of mimosa, but NO siree. That baby cost me $12 and so did the shot of vodka they so sneakily enticed me to order what with their extravagant display of bloody mary mixes. Ouch to my wallet, but hey, the atmosphere was nice. It was cool to linger for a Sunday afternoon, the wait staff didnt rush us out (and actually could have been more attentive instead). A once in a lifetime experience! , but i think their afternoon tea is a better deal.

  • Pros: four seasons hotel is fancy and photo worthy from within
  • Cons: RIP-OFF PRICE, Wait staff

Elegant Cal-French dining in romantic chamber or garden patio.

by Contributor at Citysearch

The Scene
Oil paintings of European countrysides line cream-colored walls, while orchids in demi-vases dot tables dressed with silver settings and pomegranate-motif charger plates. The patio, with roll-away sunshading, sits among palms and lemon trees, garden fountains and three-foot pillar candles.

The Food
Chef Ashley James, whose presentations often favor pairing meats with fruit garnish, combines the savory and the sweet for a melodious mix. The goat cheese tomato tart tatin offers hearty beefsteak tomatoes trimmed with sweet basil sit and semi-melted cheese atop a thin pastry crust. Rich lobster bisque "cappuccino," served in a mug with white tarragon foam, teases the eye. Beef tenderloin is delicately paired with sauteed forest mushrooms and foie gras cannelloni in a semi-sweet red wine sauce. Dessert choices include the moist chocolate pudding cake with a mid-section treasure of gooey chocolate.

The Best Brunch EVER!!!!

by calilove_92 at Citysearch

I try to go at least every few months as the brunch is quite pricey. The service is excellent. You can watch the stars and be treated like one as well. The food is always fresh and the presentation is breath taking. I reccommend going the weekend before any awards ceremony taking place in the area that is your best bet for seeing Hollywood's finest. I often take out of town guests there and they are always more than impressed.

  • Pros: What's not to love....
  • Cons: The price can be a bit daunting....

classiest high tea in LA

by ninaemkin at Citysearch

I am a high tea devotee and I've had them all over the city -- the Peninsula, the Beverly Hills Hotel, Bistro Garden... This is the best! Luxurious environment, super-accomodating staff, yummy finger sandwiches and pastries.. Plus, Larry Flynt eats here all the time in his gold-plated wheelchair.. RAD.

Agua Luca rum

by deedubbs at Citysearch

The food is amazing. The scene is great.

But the Agua Luca drinks are incredible. Ask for an Agua Luca Caipirinha, margarita or mojito. The server recommended that we try this new ultra-premium rum from Brazil and the drinks he made were unreal. I wouldn't leave without trying an Agua Luca margarita or something.

Great appetizers and the staff are very knowledgable. I would definitely go back for a happy hour dinner any time.

  • Pros: Agua Luca margaritas, caipirinhas, mojitos
  • Cons: valet is pricey

One of my favorites in LA

by krazy310 at Citysearch

I usually get to enjoy a meal at Gardens several times per year. I have yet to have a bad meal........my worst meal would be considered 'very good.' My favorite is the five course tasting menu. Each meal is always made to perfection......with taste and aesthtics. The desserts are to die for. If you have a monsterous appetite, you might want to consider the Sunday brunch, which runs for $50 without champagne and $65 with. You'll find everything from your ordinary breakfast items to sashimi, a seafood section (crab legs, claws and shrimp), a wide array of salads, and the ultimate dessert table! Plus, who knows who you'll run into? Maybe Shaq? Kid Rock?

  • Pros: Variety, Service, Ambiance

Great place all around

by monkfishliver at Citysearch

The award winning dessert is a must - Chcolate souffle with raspberry foam, Chocolate Caramel cake. The tasting menu is always a good way to go but you can always order them a la carte. If you go with the regular entree dishes, the chef is quite generous with sending out complimentary dishes between courses. The brunch buffet is also very good. Last but not least, the waitstaff is absolutely the best.

All about the brunch

by greg at Citysearch

Ive only been here for the Sunday afternoon brunch and its well worth the trip. I sat outside on the patio and enjoyed the meal thoroughly. The buffet is a mix of everything from sushi to fine cheeses and desserts. Be forewarned that dining is a pricey exercise, but you probably already know that. After all, this is the Four Seasons.
