One of L.A.'s most historic public spaces remains a testament to education and inspiration.

In Short
Originally known as Agricultural Park, this L.A. landmark (renamed Exposition Park in 1910) has become a cultural center for Angelenos and visitors alike. Located next to USC, the 160-acre public space is home to a variety of stellar museums like the California Science Center and Natural History Musuem of Los Angeles, as well as attractions including the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum and the famous Rose Garden.
Cool but a bit depressing
by dmenkes
Between the California Science Center, the IMAX theater, the Museum of Aerospace, this place was a dreamland for me as a child. Coming back years later, however, I realized the neighborhood isn't the greatest. The park itself is a bit dreary, even on sunny days, and outside the comforts of the different buildings, there's almost a sense of rushing from one place to another. Theres a McDonald's here.
Beautiful Rose Garden

Just south of the University of Southern California campus, this park is a gorgeous spot for lunch or a stroll before a game at the Coliseum or between museum visits. (The Museum of Science and Industry, the Natural History Museum the African-American History Museum are all nearby.) The park's rose garden has hundreds of varieties, making it a popular place for weddings. When I was in school at 'SC, this was a favorite place for a study break.
- Pros: Rose garden, Museums
- Cons: Parking
