It used to be better

This is a more of a social park for dog owners rather than dogs. Owners do not pay attention to thier dogs nor pick up after them. They don't care if dogs start to get to aggressive, nor do most people understand when a dog is just playing versus being aggressive. If you are trying to chase tail, while your dog is chasing tail then Silverlake maybe for you. Silverlake is a dog park for new yuppie dog owners, not for *real* dog owners. There has also been a trend of bringing lower class people to the park who are more aggressive then thier dogs. Watch out!!
While I used to go to this park everyday for at least 1 year, I now go to Griffith Park Dog Park because the people are there for the dogs.
This popular dog park unleashes the heart of the canine community.

In Short
With grass, dirt and plenty of room to run around (1.25 acres), this neighborhood hang is a favorite for hounds and their pets. The old playground has been replaced by new grass, giving a little more running room to the pooches. A melting pot of dog owners spend their afternoons here, from slinky vixens with their well-pampered Pomeranians to yuppies with yapping Jack Russell terriers. If you're lucky enough to tangle leashes, you may not leave alone.
Doggy Socialization

This the best thing since sliced bread. Honesty! I have an active Border Terrier, I've walked him and have plenty of toys, but when a friend recommended this park to me, I was more than excited to go. This park went beyond my dreams. Fenced in area for your dog to run without a leash. Other doggies to play and socialize with. Ultra clean, and they provide scoopers for you to clean up after your doggy. Best part, you'll be able to chat with responsible dog owners about particular breeds and other info.
- Pros: Socialization, Responsible owners, clean park
Fun!

We took our pup to the park for the first time this weekend, and were quite surprized at how clean it's maintained. The park is broken off into two sections - one side for smaller more timid dogs/puppies, and the other for the bigger more playful dogs. Theres lots of open space to run around and through balls/Frisbees. We spent hours there and didnt even notice the time go by
