low-key...
i have only been on Saturdays and i enjoyed myself...this is a really low-key place to chill...u don't have to worry about chillin' with a "snobby" crowd...unless u like those kinds of crowds...yes i admit it is small but i liked the music and that to me scores points....no good music = no fun!
Saturday Night at the Chocolate Bar!!!
I heard a lot about this spot, and when I arrived I thought is would be some hole in the wall. TWell, I had too musch fun, and this is probably one of the best night spots in LA. The ambieance is laid back and the crowd is real cool. Unpretentious urban folks looking to have a good time. The DJ plays real hip-hip (not hip-pop), dancehall, and sould music. Only $10 to get in and you can wear jeans (guys too). No "LA" attitudes here.
come down to get down!
this place was great! the music was hot, the djs were some of the best i've ever heard and was more fun than a lot of clubs in nyc. at first the beats were real chill but then 11 or so rolled around and the dance floor became packed! the diverse crowd was only interested in the music, which everyone else fed off of to have a good time. every thing is great about this place except the $8 dixi cup shots they pass off as a drink. i say the club is better than nyc, but the drink value might be worse. for only $10 to get in, this place is great!
Bangin'
Everything a good nightclub should have: Tall, handsome men, bangin' music, beautiful ladies, great comfortable atmosphere, and held at Gabah. Crowd is mixed, African American, Mexican American and Asian American. The crowd is a little older, looks like 24-30 and the dance floor is bumpin'. Gabah has a great bar and bartenders, a patio to smoke or cool down, and a couple of lounges.
