Best thing I ever did was call Pacific Oaks and doctor a new docter. Dr James Gaede is the best. I know his busy and sees a lot of people, but when it's you turn and he walks through the door, it's al about you. He answers all my questions and concerns but not befor he tells me why he knows the answer to my questions. Last year I had a complete physical. Dr Gaede called me back and went over the entire report point by point. He explained things in laymens terms and the best part...the test was clean/neg across the board. I get same day appts if needed. Sure parking is a litle expensive. But after the last doctor I had I have no problem paying the $3.00 to $6.00 for the type of medical care I get. And there are 2 hour free parking on the side streets if you're a little straped for money. Bottom line is Pacific Oaks, the Doctors and staff are great!!! They make my doctor appts enjoyable!! Oh and the cute doctor, I'd have a hard time when it's time for the physicals
Pros: Great service and care
Cons: parking but no big deal

I don't know how someone could get bad treatment or care from Pacific Oaks. I recently moved to southern California and needed a new doctor. Being gay I looked through the "gay rags" and came across their ad. Upon asking around about Pacific Oaks and the care I set up my first appointment. The entire staff was friendly, kind, and seemed real concerned for my care and health. Having a doctor who is younger than me, (not to mention drop dead gorgeous!!!!) is refreshing and made me totally feel comfortable and talked to me as a real person and human being not just a patient. I don't see how anyone can have a problem with them. I am so happy to have found my new doctor and will give nothing but praise to Pacific Oaks. They get a gold star from me!!!
Pros: friendly, caring, empathetic, (cute docs!)
Cons: none

I started going to Pacific Oaks to see Dr. Rick Stryker. He is a great doctor and I had no problem with the service. When he left, I followed him to another office. He went into research, so I went back to Pacific Oaks recently and found they they had gone downhill fast. In about a 1 1/2 year period the service was nothing but a pain in the a**. First off, they wanted me to sign a document stating that I would be will willing to pay $75.00 for a missed appointment. OK, I can understand this policy if I was habitually late or had missed appointments, but this was not the case. As a matter of fact, the doctor was late 80% of the time. And I'm not talking about 5 or 10 minutes...it was 30 minutes one time. What about paying me for my time? Second, I have had the same insurance for the last 10 years and they wanted to photocopy my insurance card every time I went into the office. Again, I could understand if I had changed insurances several time. Again, not the case. I just found them to nit pick every detail. I decided to go and see another doctor, so requested my medical records through my current doctor. I received a bill for $35.00 from a print and copy agency in Pasadena. They stated that they will send my records to my current doctor when I pay the bill. What about confidentiality? I'm not comfortable them farming the copying to an outside agency. The $35.00 isn't such a big deal. It's the principle. I never heard of paying to have your records sent to another doctor. Sure, they charge if you'd like to pick them up yourself. Keep in mind that I was a good patient. I never missed an appointment and was NEVER late to an appointment. Every time I went in to see the doctor there was some new policy or more paper work to fill out. Now I see Dr. Wing in Sherman Oaks and have had no problems. I just go to the doctor without any complications. I show up, the doctor sees me in about 5 to 10 minutes and I'm out of there. It's very simple.
Pros: Connected to Cedars. Well known.
Cons: Ofiice policy. Always late.

My first impression of Pacific Oaks was good. the waiting room was nice and my appointment began on time. Dr. Skiba, was yes cute, but not very "on the ball". I was less them inpresed with him. Then when I was checking out I was handed a bill for over $600. My insurance covers the entire cost of a physical and lab fees and that was all I asked for. I was forced to pay. I called my insurance to confrim that i was not supposed to pay for anything. When I called Pacific Oaks back, they argued with me and refused to call my insurance to check. The gentleman I spoke with on the phone was also yelling at me through this conversation. Some of the WORST customer service I have ever recieved. Then once I had my insurance call them. the told me they did lab work not inculded in the basic physical, and they had to charge me for 2 visits so they could get paid. I told them to cancel the lab work, because I did not want any thing over the basic physical. They refused. I will not go back nor would I let a friend go to this practice.

After years of being shuffled in and out of various doctors' offices with no more than a "what's the problem? okay, here's a prescription" & a pat on the back, I've finally found true health care with Dr. Skiba and the Pacific Oaks Medical Group. Doc was ON IT from the word go. I went in with an upper respiratory infection, fully expecting the usual 5 minutes with no eye contact and no questions about my history, "here's some meds, out you go". What I got was the complete opposite - they took a full, thorough history, asked me tons of questions, did a full physical and bloodwork. And thank god -- turned out I had some previously undetected health issues which could, in the end, explain a lot of things about my health and eventually lead to a great improvement in my general well being. No other doctor has ever taken the time. Everyone there REALLY cares - you can feel it. The waiting room has a warm vibe, reception staff is wonderful. I was waiting in an exam room for the dr. and could hear another doctor in his office on the phone with a patient who was obviously asking a lot of questions. The patience and kindness in his voice as he answered every one sold me on the place within my first 5 minutes there. The care I subsequently received confirmed my feelings (Dr. Skiba's awesome!). Can't recommend these guys highly enough.
Pros: Sincere care, thorough attention
Cons: none!

I drive 80 miles from Lake Arrowhead in San Bernardino County to Dr. Gaede at this providers office. That should tell you of how I feel of the service and commitment of the staff here. I highly recommend this office for any medical service for those, not only in L. A. but also those , like myself, that must drive to pursue quality medical care.
Pros: Complete and excelent quality of care.
Cons: Parking, but hey, its Beverly Hills!!!

I've been going to Pacific Oaks for about 5 years now. I feel more cared for there than with any doctor I've ever visited.
Pros: On-time Appointments, Caring doctors
Cons: Expensive Parking
