Rock It Up on Monday night!
by NinaCo
I've been going to see the Waddy Wachtel Band at the Joint on Monday nights for 8 years, and there's never been a Monday I wasn't totally thrilled. If you enjoy classic rock, this is the place to be.
But BEWARE......... Citysearch lists Waddy Wachtel as playing there every Monday, but due to the heavy schedule of the band members touring with other performers, they're not at the Joint every Monday. Check out the Waddy Wachtel Band MySpace page for correct gigs.
We all have lots of fun at the Joint on Mondays. It's a beautiful venue and feels more like a mini concert than a bar. Lots of good vibes, drinks, dancing, sitting, and one FANTASTIC band.

WHOLE NEW PLACE!!!
by hornz_halos123
O.K....So check this out! I play for a hip-hop rock band called "HORNZ AND HALOS".
We had never played the JOINT before, and it had just been remodeled. People told us that it wasn't much. But I guess that was before they changed the place up for the better. Upon entering, I couldn't believe how fresh the flow of the place was. They have a new sound system that bangs throughout the entire place! We headlined that night, so i watched a few bands play from the crowd. It was hot!! Our performance was great, but that's besides the point! If anyone had a lame night here, I don't know what happened. But I had a blast! And the place was packed! After a few drinks the place even looked better. Girls were more responsive...Bartenders were on point. And that's with a hundred screaming people waving for a drink. I might have been V.I.P...but the bartender didn't know at the time. And I still got exactly what I wanted....Oh!..If you ever make it upstairs to the V.I.P. room, you can see the hottest paintings that are stuck to the ceiling...Like picasso's! I'm giving THE JOINT a thumbs up for presentation. And I'm giving all the haters who don't know what a real party is....A HUGE THUMBS DOWN!!!

HORNZ AND HALOS

- Cons: NOT MANY...IF ANY!
call it as I see it didn't see it

Was at the joint the past week-end and had a blast. We had such a good time I felt inspired to look this place up and found this "review area" I was shocked to read some of the bad comments some people made. They seem to be in the middle of a renovation that is taking nice form. They have good cocktails, nice interesting people work there and the bands were pretty good. Over all we had a nice time and met some pretty cool people. When looking at the flyers from some of the other bands, we saw that they had calendars that included a huge smattering of L.A. clubs so, I do not believe that these bands could only get gigs here. I am lead to believe that .."callitasIseeit" and other people posting bad reviews are probably just jaded that they aren't playing there!!
- Pros: Stage, Music, Atmosphere
- Cons: Parking, Food
A "made" joint.
by backinthecave
it's a rock and roll venue dropped in one of the more jewish areas of beverly hills. makes for short walks to some interesting markets and eateries. high stage makes watching easy. draws a mixed crowd of age, style, and IQ, which is great. i've never had an off social moment with a patron or an employee. the music is always going to be hit or miss in a town with a million asperations and only a pocketfull of real talent, but it's one of the made venues in LA, so it's going to represent LA live music pretty well. parking is good if you're early, but beware the dental "we tow" signs, because those three spots are a shakedown. very comfortable, large booths, but if they're all taken, it can be a drag. backstage bathrooms are clean. feels like you're draining vip style. what more? not a bad place.
Nice little Hollywierd Secret
by lillywild1978
The Joint on Pico is a great spot on Wed. nights. Happenin' Harry and his crue are in charge of the nights event and the cover to see live music is rarely over seven dollars. And, for that mere $7 you get to see some pretty fun music The sound system is great and the staff is avant gaurd and friendly. The bartender doesn't make too many foo foo drinks but, the ones he poors are classic and pack a punch!!
My girlfriends and I were at the Joint on Wed. June 15th and saw our favorite Local rock band, ' Wheresbrett ' who put on yet another fantastic show.
If your friends band is playing the joint go see them. If you want the chance of meeting the likes of Robert Plant, Slash, or Vivian Campbell this is a great little hollywood secret you should discover.
- Pros: Location, Staff, Live Music
- Cons: Parking, No food at night
staff needs to be renovated
by kyle_tuna
Waiting outside for 45 mins when the place is empty isn't right, the bartenders are more into themselves than getting you a drink and paprking is tricky too. I used to like this place but I won't be back after my visit the other night. It's too bad, this used to be one of the better venues around, now it looks like they are trying to make it just another forgettable foo-foo hollywood club after the renovation. Some of the most clueless staff I've ever seen at a club.
- Pros: decor, live music
- Cons: staff, drink selection
Nothing Spectacular...
by digdoug2001
Decent venue, but slightly cramped. Nothing too terrible though. They have some decent acts come through, but they also allow some of the lower end L.A. bands take the stage. If you friend's band is playing here, then you have an excuse to go...otherwise flip a coin.
Cozy nest

I love this place..... It's such a cozy place for me. The kind of place where the door guy and bar tender remembers you, and is cool with you whether you're a guy or girl. And it's a plus that the bartender makes good drinks...... Tip him well!! He has a REALLY good memory.
Take a walk on the Westside for quality live music seven nights a week.

The Scene
Tucked away in the otherwise quiet Beverly Hills-adjacent neighborhood, the Joint is anonymous from the outside, cloaked in black paint and masked by a dark canopy. Fairly tiny by L.A. club standards, its square footage shortcomings are redeemed by large hanging mirrors, which provide the red room with an illusion of size and aesthetic appeal. Bench seating and adjoining tables dot one wall, while a long bar lines the other. The stage itself is brilliant to behold--elevated four feet and flanked by golden elephant tusks--and the sight lines are good from anywhere in the room.
The Draw
You won't find many froufrou cocktails here--the drinking is secondary to the music. A good sampling of indie bands pull in young industry types and rock fans six nights a week. Monday night sessions with classic rocker Jack Tempchin draws a mellower crowd.
Good crowd.

Just a good place to be, whether you want to be lost in the noise & crowd, or you want to be in on the celebration. Enjoy the music, enjoy the people.
