Best Bridal Salon in Los Angeles
by wedgirl at Citysearch
After dreading the whole dress shopping experience as long as I possibly could, I was off to find the perfect dress for my June wedding. After visiting another big name salon earlier in the day (Monique Lhuillier) where I was made to feel like a naughty child for waiting so long to shop, I was welcomed into the most amazing shopping experience ever at Saks Fifth Avenue. The manager David, was soothing and assuring that here in this incredibly gorgeous space that I was sure to be guided by his amazing staff to the dress of my dreams. Not only did the gracious sales woman, Karen, indulge me by letting me try on anything I wanted, she then guided me to beautiful dresses that could be made in my short time frame. I was never made to feel rushed or pressured into anything, but felt comfortable enough to make a quick decision on a gorgeous Amsale gown that was more beautiful than I could ever have imagined. The sales woman also let me in on all the money saving tips that Saks offered. I was able to save 10% by opening a Saks account, no tax to ship to Hawaii, and free alterations with their gift card events. I've only bought cosmetics in this store with a luke warm reception, but here in the Bridal Suite I truly felt like a VIP customer even though I was on a budget. I would highly recommend this salon for every bride-to-be!
- Pros: Great Service
- Cons: I was told shopping during the week is a lot less chaotic then weekends.
Absolutely awful service

if you are looking for your wedding dress, don't bother with the bridal salon at Saks in BH. the rudest service. the saleslady (she may be french) was absolutely rude and was annoyed she even had to speak to us. even though they had the dress i wanted, i choose to purchase it somewhere else.
i'll make sure to tell anyone else looking for a dress to go elsewhere too.
- Pros: nothing
- Cons: rude service, inattentive
Great Store

Saks is a store that I always go back to. Michelle a personal shopper is miraculous and will find amazing things for your body type.
I go there in the fall and spring to buy outfits for the year. I never go to smaller stores anymore because you can't return for cash or cc refund if you are unhappy with selections.
I once told a staff person in shoes that I was taking a shoe downstairs to match a Wolford top. . He said please don't worry only celebs steal things here. A very funny staff. I pay little attention to those that complain, remember staff does not make alot of money working there and it's a difficult job at best. Maybe to those who complain, get a life.
- Pros: Flexibility
- Cons: NONE
A New York pioneer ventures across the country with designer standards.

In Short
Saks is the retail hub for classics like Calvin Klein, Donna Karan, Michael Kors, Kate Spade, Ralph Lauren, Prada and Badgley Mischka. This department store gets props for its petite and Salon Z (sizes 14-24) women's collections, as well as great selection for the little ones. Each department is a boutique to itself, boasting well-trained clerks who not only sell the good life--they set the example.
Attentive and Knowledgeable Staff, Great Selection!

I went to Saks for my wedding gown and was helped by Amelia, the most patient and knowledgeable salesperson I've encountered in any bridal salon (and I've been to quite a few!) The salon is gorgeous -- spacious and luxurious, with a selection of some of the most exquisite gowns on the market. You truly feel special and pampered here. The appointments ensure that there are only a few people in the salon at a time so that you get the salesperson's undivided attention. And surprisingly, it's actually possible to get a reasonably priced gown here -- especially if you open a Saks card.
If you go, the best person to make your appointment with is Amelia. She has an unbelievable eye for what will look good on you, and once she sees what you like she will emerge from the back room with one perfect gown after another. She takes as much time as you need and never makes you feel rushed. Amelia is a real expert and a pro, and she made my experience at Saks truly wonderful. I'm sending all of my newly engaged friends to her!
- Pros: Parking, Service
- Cons: None
RUDE AND SNOBBY
by jroth2u at Citysearch
SAKS BRIDAL Beverly Hills is awful. Rude. Snobby. Unattentive. I BEGGED Renee Strauss to order my dress, but they could not order what they do not carry. In the end I drove to Costa Mesa and purchased there. Believe me I wish I would have fallen in love elsewhere. Had Costa Mesa not carried the dress, I would have flown to NYC. Instead I drove for hours. Renee Strauss saved me and as a courtesy, altered my dress in their shop. I bought my veil and accessories there as well and everything was perfect. Saks does not train their staff. Their motto should be customer DIS-service.
- Cons: Rude, Snobby

Athough Saks has a good reputation and convenient parking, I would not reccommend their bridal department to anyone. When I arrived promptly for my appointment, the sales lady was working with another customer and would not acknowlege me. Since she was dressed unprofessionally, I wondered if there was a sales person at all. After browsing a little and being ignored, I crossed the floor to the other formal sales person who led me to the bridal department to explain to the lady that I had an appointment. The bridal sales person angrily snapped "She'll have to wait!" The other woman was apologetic, but there was no way I wanted to stick around for someone with that attitude to help me, so I left. Very dissapointing and hurtfull!

I have been a Saks customer for YEARS and I have never had any such problems that the previous reviewer(s) stated. The staff has always been very solicitous and helpful, even if I ended up buying nothing. Dan Rutledge in the Shoe Salon is the most wonderful salesperson EVER. Ask for him and you will never be sorry. Carolyn Walfish who heads Lancome downstairs is an amazing makeup artist and she will give you a fabulous makeover. Lorraine Dave who is in the jewelry section has great taste. The ladies who work on the 2nd floor (American Designer Sportswear) are all fantastic. I've gone in there looking like a scruffy baglady and have always received stellar service. We spend at least $5,000-12,000 there annually and always look forward to the bonus card that gets me a new handbag or some fabulous shoes. In general, I'm in love with Saks!
- Pros: Free parking all day for being a Saks First card holder
- Cons: None!
RUDE!

SUCH a rude staff. i went with a few friends wearing designer jeans, a ralph lauren polo, carry an expensive bag. as i went from department to department i could feel the employees' eyes on the back of my neck. they acted as though i was going to steal something at any moment. i'm 21, not 12, i don't need to be watched in a store like that. i was going to buy a pair of $200 jeans, but i took my money elsewhere when a woman said "if you're just looking i suggest you leave." i'll never go back.
