Don't waste your money or your time
by Quincho at Citysearch
I went to see the Laker's playoff game recently and I arrived 2 hours before the game only to be turned away at the door because I didn't have a ticket to the game. The general public could not enter the bar until the game started! So, on top of waiting two hours I also had to pay a $20 cover. My friend and I were some of the first inside yet we were still denied a table because we did not have a full party. We told the hostess that we had friends coming but we were still refused a table. The drinks are expensive and weak. The big screen TV is a blurry projection and a very far shot from the hdtv most other bars have. Definitely not worth the money, or the wait. Thankfully, the Lakers won or it would have been a total loss. GO LAKERS!
- Pros: Lakers won!
- Cons: general public prohibited from entering b4 game, $20 cover, weak and expensive drinks, big screen tv is horrible
A fun place; a fun time
by johnserene at Citysearch
a good place to hang out with your friends after work. It's easy to find and has lots of seating. I really like the idea of pulling in after work grabbing a cold one then hitting the road. The last time I went they were showing a golf game, although the NBA championships were on. They said they were having some problems with their tv reception. wow I believe them! That would really be my only complaint. other than that FSSB is a lot of fun
The best spot to watch the game, barring actual seats inside the Staples Center.

The Scene
Picture this: 54 TVs--the biggest one stretching 16 feet wide--projecting nearly every sporting event on the airwaves. NFL? Got it, plus the NBA, NHL and major league baseball. Every seat has a clear view of at least a few screens in this upscale, modern sports bar. Fans, many of them sporting team jerseys, root loudly for their beloved Lakers, Clippers, Kings, Angels, Ducks and Dodgers. Home-team loyalty runs deep; some even don old-school Rams and Raiders jerseys to cheer on their departed favorites.
The Draw
When the Lakers are playing, this is home for die-hard fans--the place is attached to the Lakers' home-court arena, after all. And when the team makes the playoffs, fans fill the joint to hail the purple and gold.
FOX Sports Bar Is a Joke
by rcalabrojr at Citysearch
I work three blocks from the Foxs Sports Bar and two different times I have tried to watch playoff baseball after work on a Friday. Both times the place was closed. A real sportsbar is open all the time not picking which games it can make money on. Also, during the basketball season maybe they kick in some money and buy the NBA package instead of resorting to TNT/TBS televised games.
- Pros: Great Set-up, Food is Good
- Cons: Never Open, No Sports Programming
Great place, but not worth travelling
by dkla at Citysearch
This is a great place to see a game or hang out before a game at the Staples Center, but unless you live Downtown, it's not worth the drive.
Expensive drinks, but it's a captive audience...
- Pros: many screens, good crowd
- Cons: crowded, expensive
