This Polynesian steakhouse is one of the best places around
by jeffusc1 at Citysearch
Damon's is one of the coolest places in town. It never disappoints. The food is good, the service is great and the atmosphere is just plain fun. You may have to wait a little while for a table but it's well worth it. There's a large bar/lounge area that offers a full selection of tropical drinks (Mai Tai and Chi Chi being the house specialties.) The steaks are good (not "prime" like Ruth's Chris, but good.) The prime rib is excellent. Most of the servers have been there forever and make you feel just like you're at home. The decor is eclectic - leaf-print carpeting, polynesian mural, aquariums, stuffed monkey's and a real canoe. Sure, it's tacky, but it's all part of the experience and I wouldn't change a thing about it.
- Pros: Good food, good service, fun atmosphere
I love this place!

I love this place. It is family run and when you walk in the door you are treated like family. The employees have been there for a very long time and are very kind. My finacee go there about once a week and we just love it. It is also good to meet a friend for a drink after work. As far as the food goes, it is amazing. Their house salad is a must! The steaks are always cooked to perfection. I have yet to have a bad meal there. If you are a local I recommend that you go. Fun atmosphere as well.
- Pros: Good food and atmosphere
- Cons: Sometimes it get a little packed inthere on the weekends.
VERY GOOD STEAKS,VERY CROWED SATURDAY NIGHTS GREAT SERVICE
by leoligner at Citysearch
GREAT VALUE FOR THE MONEY,HAD RESERVATIONS FOR FIVE, WERE SEATED WITHIN TEN MINUTES OF ARRIVING, THE PLACE WAS PACKED. THE WAITRESS WAS FANTASTIC, WENT OUT OF HER WAY TO MAKE SURE EVERYTHING WAS FINE, THE FOOD WAS VERY GOOD, HAD THE NY STEAK, NICE SIZE AND ORDERED THE WAY I LIKED IT. THE SAlAD WAS PLENTIFUL AND WALKED AWAY NOT BEING HUNGRY, THE HAWAIIAN DECOR SO-SO, BUT THE FOOD AND SERVICE OUTWAYED THE DECOR. WE WERE NOT RUSHED IN ANY WAY, IT SEEMED THAT THERE WERE JUST THE SAME AMOUNT OF PEOPLE WAITING TO BE SEATED AS WE ENTERED THIS PLACE.
- Pros: GOOD WAITRESS, VERY GOOD FOOD, GOOD VALUE FOR THE MONEY
- Cons: CROWDED(you need rez on weekends), parking hard to find
Glendale's famed spot for Polynesian decor and drinks. And steak, too.

In Short
Okay, so technically it's a steakhouse, but the kitschy decor and island theme is what makes it a true blue tiki haunt. An old-time landmark left over from the heyday of Polynesian-themed bars and restaurants back in the late 1950s, the restaurant moved to Brand Boulevard in 1980, and that's when the tiki sparks really started to fly. Take a look at the hostess table, where you'll see an original velvet painting by Tahitian artist Edgar Leeteg. You can't miss the outrigger hanging above the main dining room, the tropical murals on the walls, and the large salt-water aquarium and duo of fresh water aquariums at the bar. As for the menu (serving brunch, lunch and dinner), expect a feast from land, sea and air--and exotic cocktails with price tags that thankfully harken to an earlier time. They just don't make 'em like this anymore.
Bad Service- listen to the reviews...
by onenat1 at Citysearch
The service was horrible. Our server ignored us for 30 minutes before handing us menus and she approached us because we complained. Our drinks were never brought to us altough we were charged for them. There are plenty of places that serve a mediocre steak so why bother with horrible service. Listen to the reviews and skip Damons!
- Pros: kitschy atmosphere
- Cons: bad sevice, medicore food, kitschy atmosphere
Tiki room steak house
by bigdaddyzack at Citysearch
Damons was once the top place in the area to get a great steak and enjoy an island drink. It has lost some of its appeal but still is worth a gander. I like the island "tiki room" atmosphere. It is a date restaurant/lounge. I say its a great place to go on a second or third date. Nice place for dinner on an anniversary.
- Pros: Good steak and drinks, nice atmosphere, attentive to couples
- Cons: easy to drive by, difficult parking, pricey
Watch the monkey!

The steaks are good and the mai tai's are strong and plentiful. The servers have been around for ages and are a lot of fun. Make sure you have you fill of salad and garlic bread. This is a great place for the whole family and large groups.
