I've been to The Kitchen a number of times, and always had good experience. Though, if you're not in the mood for meat, you may want to opt for a different locale (not to say they don't have a few veggie dishes -- that's just not their strong suit). Last time I was there, I had the meatloaf -- good stuff. The place is *tiny* so be prepared to wait unless you get there during a non-crowded time.
Pros: Inexpensive, Good food, Cozy atmosphere
Cons: Crowded
