Go to santa monica instead!
by steak2244 at Citysearch
the energy of the place is horrible along with the service. If you're young and out with friends Santa Monica BOA is the place to go...even if it's farther...the staff is way better, faster, and you can walk along the beach after dinner
- Cons: nothing but old people
Good Steak Nice Decor

Enjoyed the room and furnishings, very stylish and cool. The lounge next door is a nice place to start the evening.
- Pros: Vibe and Style
- Cons: What are the drawbacks?
Very Average Steakhouse
by Carnivore123 at Citysearch
We went to BOA on Sunset for Valentine's Day and had a very average experience. We approached the front desk and the hostesses (the typical aspiring actresses) were busy playing around with the LCD monitor. They were having trouble reading or finding something on the screen.
Even though the restaurant was 2/3 empty, we were seated outside on the balcony- We were assured that there were heat lamps outside. Unless your date is Amish and wearing a dress that comes down to her ankles, she will be freezing if the temperature is in the low 50's. When we complained, we were moved to the lounge area where there were make-shift tables (basically two small bar tables put together). Again, the main dining area was 2/3 empty. We noticed two other tables with people, who happened to be the same race as us, but I won't go there.
We had the crab cakes for appetizer, and it tasted similar to a combination of Gordon's fish sticks and Boca burger. The NY Strip also tasted average, but they did have an extensive wine list. I would definitely give four stars to the server who was very friendly and attentive, and also the bar staff. Otherwise, we had a very average experience there. BOA is definitely a second-tier steakhouse. I've been to everywhere from Peter Luger, Smith & Wollensky's and Sparks in NY, Ruth's Chris, The Cut etc. and this place doesn't come close. If anything, I would just come here for drinks and hang out at the bar.
- Pros: Bar Staff, Wine Selection
- Cons: Small Space, Selective Seating
Very Disappointing!! great service and cocktails, inconsistent food
by carrie06fern at Citysearch
My boyfriend and I are both cooks and we went here looking for a fantastic and delicious dinner. The service was great- the cocktails are AMAZING and SOOOOO tasty. My filet was the best filet I've ever had. His Kobe beef, which should be totally yummy, was NOT very good- chewy and mediocre, and pretty much a huge rip off. The foie gras appetizer was AWFUL. our friend that came with us ordered the salmon special (cornmeal crusted salmon with risotto) and it was REALLY REALLY AWFUL. the salmon was so salty she had to send it back, and then when they brought the new one we realized that the risotto was crunchy and didnt really even taste good with salmon, and overall it was just a really poor dish. For dessert we had bananas foster, which was just a square of puff pasty with some caramel mush and bananas. gross. I can cook frozen puff pastry myself. and it was so tough that I could barely cut through it. The service was great and they didnt make us pay for the salmon, but still, we kind of wanted to just have GOOD food, not FREE food.
My verdict- cocktails- DELICIOUS :)
Filet- awesome!
Loved this place.

Been here once and now that I think about it, I'm not sure I haven't been back.
Anywho. The food is GREAT! Went with a group of four and we all had different things; which we all loved. The lobster is fantastic. The steak was good, but I shouldn't really comment since I'm not a fan of steak (why go to a steakhouse then, huh? lol)
After dinner we crossed over to the lounge/bar area. It wasn't too crowded, but I forget what day of the week it was. Drinks were good, service was excelent. We had a very friendly waiter, very talkative.
I should've been there again already!
- Pros: Food. Service. Drinks. Celebreties seem to frequent the place. Ran into Fabulous on my way to thre restroom :) lol.
- Cons: It can be a bit pricey, but... you gotta pay up if you want real quality.
Delicious steaks and tasty martinis!
by christy_buena at Citysearch
My boyfriend made reservations at Boa Steakhouse for my birthday. The restaurant was pretty empty at 3pm on a Saturday, which gave our party of six, a sense of privacy. The decor was nice consisting of brown pillowy walls, twig room dividers and interesting lights. Boa Steakhouse was quite impressive with attentive service, delicious dishes along with notable cocktails including the Oaxacan martini, Mc Strawberry Shortcake and the Boa Infusion.
We opted for the Seafood Appetizer Platter consisting of crab legs, half a lobster, oysters and more. The platter was enough for four people.
I ordered the 40-day old aged NY strip steak, which was to die for. My brothers ordered Porterhouse steaks, which were huge!
Overall, our experience at Boa was great and our waiter even served us cheese fries on the house =) I'm definitely going there again sometime soon.
- Pros: Attentive service, steaks to die for and de-lish martinis
- Cons: Little nat flying around our table
The best place ever !! highly recommended

My boyfriend loves steak, so i brought him over to BOA @ west hollywood on his birthday. The service was great, and the food was excellent. The only things I don't like were the soup (it's something with tomato, coconut, and lobster... not so good) and the waitress (she was studying her midterm or final at the bar, which kinda drive me crazy). I think this place is highly recommended.
- Pros: food, ambiance, service
- Cons: Soup
Best service in West Hollywood

BOA has always been on the top of my list. This last visit cemented it there. We had the best service I have ever experienced. Our waiter was absolutely fantastic and that made an unbelievable meal even better.
#1 Steak house
by puddingyy at Citysearch
Boa has the best steak....so far it's #1 steak house on my list. I tried the 6 OZ. Wagyu NY strip, is so tender that the meat melts in my mouth. For those who never tried Wagyu beef before, this is the place to have your 1st Wagyu beef. Outside dining area is perfect for a date, the service is excellent however inside dining area is a little bit too loud. If you are a steak lover, you should definitely try their Wagyu steak
- Pros: Excellent food
- Cons: Too loud at the inside dining area
