Aside from the two baseball diamonds and a meticulously groomed soccer field, there is precious little to do at Malibu Bluffs--and that's the point. This hushed green expanse sits on a high promontory surrounded by the mighty Pacific and Pepperdine University. Young lovers come to snuggle beneath stadium blankets and watch the marine layer drape land and sea in a cool, gauzy veil.

I wish I had found this park earlier than five years into my life in LA. Dog friendly and beautiful! Had a lovely picnic there on Labor Day.
