The country's first Asian-American theater company still walks the edge.

For four decades, the East West Players have been at the forefront of Asian-American theater, offering a supportive environment for actors and writers while presenting classics and new plays relating to Asian Pacific American cultural experiences. With its recent move to the David Henry Hwang Theatre, EWP has become a cornerstone of the Little Tokyo renaissance, located in a mini-arts center that includes the Japanese American National Museum and MOCA's Geffen Contemporary.

Great Original Theatre

The East West Players have always presented wonderful, original and thought provoking theatre productions...even when they were located on Santa Monica Blvd near Virgil and Hoover. Highlighting the talent of Asian and Asian-American artists, this production company always highlights the the best talent in the Asian communities. Whether it's a drama about a young Japanese soldier from Hawaii telling his tale of war and prejudice or an historical fable twisted into modern times, the East West Players never fail to satisfy.

Great theatre!

The shows at East West Players are amazing! Always so original, event with plays that people are used to seeing like Shakespeare and Sondheim. Their production values are awesome and there is such amazing talent. And there isn't a bad seat in the house!
