Dont Go
by agennt22 at Citysearch
This place is a dump! I went with some friends on my birthday. We had a party of 5. On their menu it clearly states any party of 6 or more will be charged a 15% gratuity. When we got the bill we was charged this amount . When we asked the server she gave some dumb excuse that we was charged this amount because our bill was over 200.00 ( WTF) and then she said it's because she taxed. Well honey I'm taxed on paycheck too. Pointe Moorea you cant change the rules in the middle of game. Also the food is cheap! The drinks were fine. The decor is tacky! The TV's a horrible. ( dont go there expecting to watch the game) There are way better bars in DTLA. Dont bother with this .
- Pros: Drinks are ok
- Cons: decor / sevice / tvs

Don't bother...

Bad food, bad surroundings, bad selection of beverages, bad screen resolution on the TVs. If you're looking for a place to watch the game, try your own place before you try this place.
This hybrid tiki-sports bar in the Wilshire Grand Hotel offers a fun ambiance and bargain happy hours for downtown crowds.

In Short
While this whimsical spot still attracts a hotel and after-work crowd for its cheap happy hour eats, pool tables and tropical martinis like the Virgin Sacrifice, downtown's continuing renaissance (not to mention L.A. Live's location just a few blocks away) has injected fresh energy into this somewhat tame tiki bar. The decor is actually pretty cool--authentic Polynesian art, surfboard tables, big Gauguin murals and an underlit "lava" floor. Suits and sports fans suck down Mai Tais martinis and brews accompanied by bar food ranging from cheeeburgers and mini crab cakes to chilled shrimp, chicken satay and pizza. The 120" giant screen HDTV screen makes it a perfect venue to watch the game, and the late-night happy hour offers excellent bargain prices on drinks.
excellent karaoke night/ friendly service, 100'' tv screen

excellent karaoke nights on thursdays! the kj is very good, patient, and friendly. the waitresses are also very nice. from time to time very good singers come, but you will see some regulars who sing and perform very well. thursdays nights (6-10p) are definitely fun, fun fun!!!- a lost jewel in downtown LA, located in the "nice area" of downtown.
- Pros: karaoke, good rotation, friendly service
- Cons: from time to time it gets empty.
Excellent Downtown Happy Hour Spot

I was at Point Moorea on Thursday night for happy hour. This was my first time there. I definitely enjoyed my visit. They have a full open "island" bar as you enter the lounge. The place is colorfully decorated yet not obnoxious. There are T.V's all over the bar and a huge screen by the DJ booth for late night Karaoke. The restrooms are really clean, and there is valet parking for just $3. They have a wide assortment of appetizers, from crab legs to your traditional chicken wings. The drinks are a tad over priced. Especially for happy hour. They are strong however, so you do get what you pay for.
The late night work crowd was lively and there was a good buzz. Between the pool tables, Karaoke, and scenary, you'll definitely be entertained here.
- Pros: Pool Tables, Appetizers, Atmosphere
- Cons: drinks a bit pricey
Overrated, Way Overpriced

The place doesn't draw much of a crowd and a decent beer will run you $7-9. Service was okay, but my guess was the watress was happy to service $10 shots all night long.
Laid back after-work bar

Very chill place with most of the clientele coming from work. Parking is in the garage below. A $2 tip will get you valet service. Not a romantic place but definetely a good time.
- Pros: Yummy, Good parking

Is a highly underrated bar downtown. $2 happy hour appetizers, great martini menu, awesome bar staff!
Happy Hour Rocks!

This has got to be the best place for after-work happy hour, if you're on a budget! All appetizers are just $2 and they're darn tasty! Shrimp, chicken satay, beef skewers, crab cakes, all $2! The drinks are nice and strong and if you're a pool shark, playing is free (as long as you're drinkin').
Friday nights, around 10pm, the place turns into a club, rockin' the hip hop and reggae beats! Who knew?
- Pros: Cheap tasty food!, Strong drinks!, Fun place to hang out
