This WeHo hot spot is ablaze with drag queens, bingo parties and hip-hop DJs.
by Tara Lis
In Short
A far cry from its former incarnation as Rafters, Fubar caters to a young crowd looking for circuit-party alternatives. The mishmash decor includes psychedelic James Bond-type designs, along with an old movie poster from the 1936 film "The Love Wanga," featuring the tagline "Strange loves of queer people." Curtains separate the raised pool table area in the back from the main room.
Fun when Mario Diaz is hosting, Iffy otherwise
by ee_me_me
When Mario Diaz is hosting a night, this place is great. Other nights it's a crapshoot. Crowd can be a little creepy in that "Silence of the Lambs" kind of way. You know what I mean.
- Pros: Divey in a fun way, good special nights
- Cons: On the wrong night, it's divey in a bad way
ALWAYS a good time

A cross between a NYC alley-bar and a Silverlake hang, right in the middle of all the we-homogeny. Relaxed, unpretentious, and just seedy enough. Great music. Fun people. Thursdays rock!
- Pros: FUN
- Cons: Tiny dance "area"
Fubar Fat dick

i've been coming to this bar since it started. while it's steadily gotten more and more crowded it's still the best gay bar in LA. great music, cool bartenders and good guys all around. I think i met some of my best friends here.
Best bartenders in LA
by ethanfrome
Really, they are the best. I bartended for six years, and I used to sit at the bar and get angry that one, in particular, was better than me. What can I do? This is truly a great place. Makes socializing fun again. No small feat in Los Angeles.
- Pros: staff, vibe, MUSIC
- Cons: parking, gotta love crowds
Awesome Keepin it Real Vibe

Fubar is definitely a great alternative to the pretty boy J-Lo sunglasses WeHo scene. Friendly staff, rocking music, and cute alt/indie crowd. It feels like San Francisco but with cuter styled people, which I guess makes it somehow more LA. It does have a"NYC" feel too it but if I have to hear another person complain about LA and how they miss NYC Im gonna puke. Los Angeles has great alternatives to the 'circuit' pretty boy scene! In fact, the only cool people I meet when I go to NYC are Californians or gay boys from Ohio anyway. Viva West Coast!
Be sure to check out Thursday night! If youre offended by pornos being played on the TV screens, this may not be the place to bring your spunky girl coworker friend from the office.....,wait is that what makes in 'feel' NYC? Pornos playing on the TVs? Duh.
- Pros: Great Music, Indie/Alternative Vib, Not in NYC
- Cons: Often Crowded, No Room to Dance
May be to poplular now!

I use to go here before it was popular. Everyone was friendly even the staff which is unusual for LA. Now it is sometimes too busy and too packed.
- Pros: Friendly
- Cons: Too busy now.
feels like home
by cpeterpan
if you're from nyc and miss places like barracuda and wonderbar, it's like a little slice of home. sadly, it closes at 2a.
- Pros: east-coast feel, not bad music, strong drinks
- Cons: west-coast people, lame gogo dancers
