Great additions
by panchamora at Citysearch
The Citadel used to have these great little stores with big names: VAns, Old Navy, Reebox, Max Azaria, Ann Taylor and Betsey Johnson...but now, well it hasnt been too long, but they reconstructed it and included lots of more namebrand outlets like Calvin Klein, Puma, Guess, Charlotte Ruousee, plus there are great eateries and neat things always on sale at these stores...the parking lot is big
This downtown shopping fortress triumphs over retail prices with its L.A.-friendly location.

In Short
Driving south on I-5, you might be surprised to see what looks like an Assyrian castle rising into view. Behind this impressive facade--used in the movie "Ben Hur"--looms the Citadel, a pleasant outdoor shopping area with more than 40 factory stores and a food court. Without such high-end anchors as Barneys New York Outlet, this ancient outlet still offers respectable discounts on everyday labels. The bargains can vary depending on the day.
Small and Nice
by chanteus at Citysearch
I like this little outlet because it is near the downtown area where I live. I also get coupons via email from Bass, Van Huessen, Geoffrey Been, and Izod. Calvin Klien, Anne Taylor and BCBG are there as well. Puma has a store there with 20% extra off shoes on the back wall. Shoe Pavillions prices aren't that great the prices in their regular stores are better. Week days are good.
- Pros: Small and not as exhausting as the larger outlets
- Cons: Very busy on weekends parking can be a pain on those days
Went on a shopping binge
by gimesome at Citysearch
Hit BCBG and walked out with an arm load. Suo had the cutest stuff and NineWest had all up to date/style bags (had to buy two). Quicksilver, Vans, & Old Navy all great prices and I was there when most of the stores were having sales. Bought a sexy pair of black NineWest boots from Shoe Pavillion, original price was $209., thier price $99., marked down to $88. and one more time to $58. (what a steal). It's like any outlet store...you gotta look. Can't wait for all of the new stores to open up.
- Pros: clean bathrooms , nice food court, not croweded for Sat.
- Cons: the old side is tacky, ,will it be redone?, the 5 freeway
Keep driving

The selection of wares and clothing are pretty boring and the prices were not deeply discounted as expected. Old Navy seemed to have the best value, but the four lines to the registers were 20-30 people deep! This was our first time there and the facade led us to believe it was bigger than it is...much smaller than most malls actually. Head to Camarillo if you want outlet shopping, according to my wife.
- Pros: Parking
- Cons: , Few stores
There Are Better Places To Go
by svantico at Citysearch
I stopped at the Citadel about two years ago after having driven past it several times. Compared to the many factory outlets I've been to around the southland and Las Vegas, I thought this place was a dud.
The facade is always cool, but the contents were disappointing. I might give it another shot in the future, but I'd still rather go to the Camarillo Outlets or Cabazon.
- Pros: Interesting Facade
- Cons: Lack Of Variety
Always A Good Idea

If you are looking for a spot to go shopping, I recommend the Citadel Factory Stores. There you can find diffrent outlet stores. Plus they have their own food court, and you are most likely to find factory brand clothes at a low price.
Love it!

Love this outlet. It's still within the city so you don't have to drive out to the middle of nowhere. Can be crowded so prepare for that. Put on good walking shoes and enjoy an afternoon here. Good stores.
