My pros pretty much cover it . . . you can park on the south side of Sunset, you just need a little walk. Its better to walk off the stiff drinks anyway.

Bartenders are pretty girls who are very nice, so be good to them.

Music is loud and annoying, but really the only kink in the otherwise perfect atmosphere.

Its a great place for those of us who slave in the industry. Happy Hour 6-9pm.

  • Pros: Cheap Drinks, Late Happy Hour, No Tourists
  • Cons: Loud Music

I've been to the Well twice this week since New Years. It has a great location, lighting, and seating. However the music is way too loud. You can't hold a conversation with the person sitting next to you in the booth because the volume from the speakers is high. For a place with so much going for it I can't believe the staff is letting this detail slide. Also, the music in the jukebox is dated. You'd think a place that's cutting edge would play hipper music. Come on this is LA.

  • Pros: Location, location, location. Great interior seating and lighting.
  • Cons: The music is too loud and cheesy. For the kind of ambience I'd expect electronic music.

I went here last night and it had a really great vibe to it. The circle bar was awesome, though they could've used one more bartender on. I waited nearly ten minutes just to get a soda. The bartender didn't even look at me and I'm not one of those pushy people. They have ample seating which is usually something lacking in most Hollywood venues but if you have back problems, beware. The backs of the booths are very far back and I couldn't reach it so I had virtually no support.

Dark lighting, great music, overall a great place with cheap drinks and a good crowd.

AMAZING. Dark lighting- very much the feeling of an old Hollywood bar. Their happy hour is until 9pm, where all well drinks, house wines, and beers are $3.00. Martinis are only $4.00 (From what I gather the Hot and Dirty is fab).Their food is AMAZING. They have this mango and brie quesadilla that will rock your world... and a tomato and feta pizza that makes your mouth scream with yummyness!

We threw a birthday party here on Friday night. We reserved the back room, which was perfect for a group. We got there at 6 (for happy hour). The drinks were good, the crowd was nice, and the music just the right level. Everything went smoothly until one of the security guards started making a scene at about 10:30. Turns out, he wanted one of the people in the party to leave because he was wearing shorts and after 9 you can't wear shorts. We had not been told about any dress code earlier in the night and had already been there for several hours at this time. It seems pretty ridiculous to make someone leave a party after that many hours, especially since the crowd was so casual. We tried to talk to the manager, but the security card wouldn't tell us where he was. Luckily, someone had an extra pair of pants. Later on, I went to the bar simply to tell the manager how dissapointed I was in the way it was played out. I told the bartender I wanted to talk to him, and she relayed the message to him, but he wouldn't even talk to me.

Overall, it's a great little bar, with some bad little people.

  • Pros: Nice bar, not too crowded
  • Cons: staff on a power trip, parking

This bar is perfect. Not too crowded, great service, prices are decent especially for LA. Far from pretentious, yet full of swankiness. Dress code, anything goes. You will feel comforatble dressed up and/or in tshirt and jeans. There are booths/seating areas located all around the bar and the music is classic rock meets Jamiroquai meets Cake. Great background funk basically with an occassional song the whole bar will rise up and sing together.

Think jukebox, good drinks, dark booths and plenty of single gals and the men who want to take them home. The Well is authentic Hollywood--as in Sunset Boulevard, jeans and dudes who wear sunglasses with colored lenses. This is a great spot to grab a drink after working for The Man all day and an excellent place to throw a few back with some friends while flirting with a stranger while singing along to The Stones.

  • Pros: Chill, Cool and Cheap
  • Cons: Small

First time I went last year for a lady's night and had such a great time. I keep going back for the atmosphere and good peps. They have a great little menu along with good drink prices and great bartenders. From time to time you'll see a star shoot in there, thanks to it's Hollywood location. Even the locals there are really cool and friendly. It's a great place to go when you're in Hollywood!

  • Pros: Friendly bartenders and people, good drinks and eats
  • Cons: parking after 7 is valet

Heyyy cooool peeepz,

First time I came to know of this place was when , on behalf of journey of india we did the henna tattoos for the 5th year anniversary party of THE WELL.

They had invited all the people who are frequent customers there for free drinks, food and FREE HENNA TATTOOS. How cool is that???

Amazing service and the bartenders (Shelly, Nikki, Chrissen - just to name some) were sooo coool and of course "HOOOOT" :-)

And the manage who also bar tends, James, is also very friendly.

has become my favourite hang out place for Fridays
