Long Over Due Review!

by Lak49ers at Citysearch

My wife and I was staying at the Hyatt and decided to go over to the spa. I'm not going to get into layout because I care more about the massage than the atmosphere.

The spa has 2 jacuzzi's, steam room, sauna. I had a Sports massage by a very relaxed and calming therapist. (Will)

It was by far the best massage I've ever had, he stretch me in so many ways, I didn't know my body could go. (he called it the lazy mans yoga)

After having my massage with Will, I told my wife she had to go see him. She had the Lemon Scrub with the Solstice Massage, she prefers more of a Sensual Massage over a Deep Tissue or Sports Massage.

The Solstice Massage was a combination of Warm Stones, Aromatherapy and Swedish Massage. My wife loved it and talked about her massage for days.

Thank You!

Great Place to Relax and Receive a Beautiful Service

by Thinking at Citysearch

I have been going to spas for many years and have to say that Century City Equinox ranks in the TOP 5.

From time of check in to check out, I was greeted by warm smiles and amazing service. The massages are great the facials are excellent BUT the BODY TREATMENTS are DIVINE.

WOW...Show Stopper.....

I tried the Enzyme Souffle and the Lemon Sugar Body Polish ...felt like I was on Cloud 9.

The BODYMELT took the cake ....left me breathless

  • Pros: Amazing Massage and Estheticians
  • Cons: Pool is outside...during the cold months not useful

RIP OFF!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

by rnbarbie at Citysearch

$45 should get you a decent pedicure right? Not at this spa. Mine looked like it was done by a my 8y old daughter. The lady used a crusty nail polish from the 90's and clipped/cut my already short nails 5 times and still they were all crazy angled. It was actually amusing after awhile, like a geometry puzzle. It was supposed to include a short foot massage (pedi was 40min long) which is what a SPA pedi NORMALLY does, however this lady SKIPPED it and went straight to hot towels and...yup you guessed it... more filing (she was down to my skin by end of session!) I live in Palm Springs and must be use to trained manicurist. This was RIDICULOUSLY BAD! I walked around showing ppl how bad it was for the next 30min. I really found it unbelievable I spent $45 on the worst pedi I have ever received. Save yourself the needed do-over pedi I had to have done...go across the street to the mall and have your nails done.

  • Pros: Able to squeeze you in I guess?
  • Cons: IT WAS THE WORST SPA PEDI EVER

Great value,

by vegankisses at Citysearch

I normally don't leave reviews, but I had to since some of the info here is totally wrong or irrelevant. I can see why some people would be intimidated because of the moneyed clientele, but the staff were so nice, starting from the valet to the checkout desk. I got treated so I wasn't too concerned about price, but a regular 50 min massage is $120 which is not bad at all for these kinds of spas. I got to use the gym for free which everything you wanted, including classes. It was easy to navigate- the gym portion is downstairs and you change in the locker rooms which have its own jacuzzi/steam room/sauna and then go upstairs to the spa area to get your treatment. The treatment rooms are serene, the private cabana area is super lux and I saw celebrities which I won't mention because apparently they come here all the time and the staff were totally professional about it, unlike my friend. Our massages were sooo relaxing I almost fell asleep, the facials left our skin glowing and it was a great overall experience. Try it and see how the other reviews are dead wrong.

One of the best Spa Experiences I've ever had

by jeweldezigner at Citysearch

I travel to Los Angeles regularly and I am definitely going back to this spa every chance I get. I was greeted by a very sweet woman named Mia, who was an absolute gem. The layout is confusing, but she walked me through to the waiting area where you meet your therapist. I had an incredible shiatsu massage with Parker and absolutely floated out. The facility is incredible. I was able to shower for the day and the products in the shower and at the counters in the women's lockeroom are awesome. This is absolutely my spa when I am in LA.

  • Pros: great people, excellent space
  • Cons: slightly confusing layout

Amazing Spa Experience

by leslie5555 at Citysearch

I had no idea that I would get to use the club because I bought a massage. For spending $115 on a massage, I got to arrive in the morning, work out at their not-crowded awesome club, take a yoga class, shower, sit in the sauna, get my massage, and then spend the afternoon at the amazing outdoor pool. we were also able to order lunch from the hyatt. i'm doing this monthly!!! my therapist sherri was amazing. i would describe her as gifted.

  • Pros: incredible therapist, serene space, great!!!
  • Cons: none

Best Massage Ever!

by kated1 at Citysearch

My experience was amazing! I had an 80min sports massage with a guy named Cedric. This was recommend to me by the receptionist when I called to book an appt. I was not sure exactly what to get, but once i described my aching muscles from working out a new trainer, the host suggested not only I get a sports massage but that I get it with specifically Cedric! I am happy I took the suggestion because he knows sooo much about each muscle in the body and worked out my muscles in a way that i'v NEVER experienced before. From the moment I arrived at the spa to leaving i felt relaxed and pampered. Everyone was very helpful and friendly. I felt relaxed even before I was picked up to receive my massage, because the staff made me feel at home. Cedric knew how to use just enough pressure to get the knotts out of my aching muscles without it being painful. Also I normally have a very hard time relaxing, yet somehow he was able to get me to relax my body and mind. The stretching incorporated in the massage was another bonus! He stretched my muscles in ways I didn't know I could stretch, and used drapping techniques to secure my comfort. After my massage cedric was also very helpful in giving me a follow up suggestion with my workout regime as well as a timeline for when I should come back for anther massage. This was the BEST massage I've ever experienced in my life! I'd recommend this to everyone, and i'm thankful that the spa receptionist suggested this to me.

  • Pros: Massage was the best i've ever had!

Such a waste people! A broken machine.

by HearMeLoudAndClear at Citysearch

I love it when someone or some company that has endless money throw their money away opening up spas. If you like the over-the-top scene but could care less about serenity and well being then by all means go to the spa located in the Century City Equinox. They honestly know as much about me the client as I do about how to build a car: nothing!

The formula for opening up successful spas is having people run it that actually care about your inner peace and energy rather then taking as much out of your pocket as possible. I am headed back to my favorite little spa in West Hollywood. If I could give this place a little advice it would be to simply start caring.

peace and love!

H

  • Pros: The fact I never have to go back
  • Cons: the corporate approach, the snobberie, the lack of caring, the parking, the list goes on

NEVER NEVER NEVER Go here

by JaneenB at Citysearch

What a joke? This place charges 110 for a 50 minute massage so you know they better bring it. THEY DON'T. Simply put this place has no idea how to be a spa. I almost can't say anything good accept the facility is beautiful. If you book know you will have nice diggs but terrible service... kind of like a beautifull restaurant that has terrible service and food. Go elsewhere!!!!!!!!! The massage was a disaster, the front desk was inept, and the check out was hilarious. D-

  • Pros: Nice Facility
  • Cons: Massage, People, Check In, Attitude, Just not a good spa, wrong approach
